I didn’t get much done today… gathered myself out of bed and had some yogurt and breakfast bar for breakfast (of course)…
Then checked email, and a few small chores around and played a little radio this morning… I got out some flower seeds and spread them out in an area that I won’t mow and hope that some of them come up… I had found a really old bag of Blue Flax seeds as well as some old Portulaca seeds so I put the blue flax out and some of the “moss rose” in a rough spot and then I put a few of the moss rose in one of the flower beds in spots that get dry in the summer, maybe they will do ok there? I also took down the bug zapper that had quit… thought that maybe it was just the bulb as it was warm? Which meant the transformer was working. I took off to Lowes to find a replacement bulb and maybe pick up some “on sale” plants for a few more spots… and get me some lunch…On the way in I came across what must have been “Beer Truck Day”…
All these in about 4 blocks… strange no Coors? maybe they deliver on different days?
On to Lowes and I got what I thought was the correct bulb and then got me a cheap lunch at Taco Bell… yea exciting isn’t it. On leaving the Bell and heading home captured this OSU spirited vehicle…
… then home to work on that zapper. When I got home I found that the bulb was not the right one? It was 2 inches too long? Hummm… So I headed back to Walmart to check their bulbs… they had one with come numbers close to what I had but not exact but had the right plug on it so I got one but it too was not correct, too small… so once again back home… I grabbed the tube that was a little too big and noticed I could take out the bottom of the shroud and test the bulb anyway… so back to a safe condition I tried the new bulb but the zapper was dead… so it has more than the bulb wrong… which it was fine till we got all the rain and I would suppose that it may have gotten fried in one of the big blowing storms we had… The next best thing was just order a new one , since Lowes didn’t have any zappers and Walmart only had the small ones…
With that done, I worked on some more stuff in the shop and when it got close to time for me to head off to the local Ham Club meeting I left early to return the wrong bulbs… Our Ham club meets the first Tuesday of each month and during the summer that is also the time for the Bikes and Tunes or something like that in Downtown Stillwater… With that I made it a point to drive (slowly) down main street on my way to the club meeting to see what was building for tonight… well there were a lot of bikes that and I guess this qualifies?

After the club meeting I got home and went to the radio… made a few contacts… strange that 15 meter was working a little on JT65 … couldn’t get the Chinese station (BG2IUR) to answer me, did pick up Kazakhstan (UN7BEW), Russia ( RW0SR), and Australia (VK2OR)…
