Just can’t stay in ?

Well, My son says the weather men out here are wrong more than right… I now agree, as if I didn’t know that from years past.  They predicted that we would get a “TRACE” of snow today.   From last nights viewing of the fireworks on Pikes Peak by the AdAmAn Club (at 9pm they shot off 5 big blast for the original frozen 5 who began this tradition ).  A group of hikers started Tuesday and spent the night on the mountain with wind chills near –41… duh?  much better for us  to watch than hike I think… Anyway we saw the fireworks as the mountain cleared in time for the blasts at 9Pm … really cool but not something I could get a picture of… http://pikespeak.us.com/Events/new-years-eve-fireworks.html.  The midnight showing, if there was one, eluded me as I was asleep… damn long day yesterday… oh well… I got to see the 9PM preshow.   Anyway, I didn’t give it much thought that it would cloud up and snow great big flakes… ?

When we got up and around this morning it was socked in… all over the place socked in and about 10am or so it started to snow, those little tiny flakes… By Noon it was coming on down… smart people would have stayed in and kept warm… but we decided we need to get out and have a “smothered burrito” from Qdoba (they had a BOGO special, for New Years day)… being cheap more than smart we got out to get our BOGO and deliver lunch to Brooke, who was working her shift today… it was actually fun getting out.

Going in to deliver and have lunch… The Grandson is a Colorado child so I guess getting out in the cold will be nothing new…

Looking back and you can see that it was a bit more than a trace of snow that a recent car pulled out of… guessing he hadn’t been there more than 30 to 45 minutes?

It did lighten up and not much more (amount wise) fell the rest of the day but it stayed cloudy and kept at it all day… so after we made our trip in the height of the snow storm we got back to the house and settled in for the afternoon..,. well I coaxed Son to install his RO water machine… had a few leaks but hopefully we have it now all ready to start supplying clear, clean water with no chemicals in it… I like my RO water… we have had water machines sine back in the 80’s so our kids are a bit spoiled… not a bad thing… So far it is a great New Year.. enjoying family and just being here…
