It was a beautiful day<\/strong> here today\u2026 temp was great, no wind, absolutely great!  Well almost.  My day<\/strong> started with a morning<\/strong> walk\u2026 got in 2.85 miles before 8:15\u2026 I know I should probably start earlier but it was cold before the sun<\/strong> was up\u2026 this was the sun<\/strong> coming up\u2026<\/p>\n

First thing on the list today, after my walk, was to call<\/strong> the Heating<\/strong> and Air people and tell them we had two problems<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

1.  the Energy Recovery unit had a blinking light?<\/p>\n

2.  One of The Ground source pumps had a strange noise, like bearing going<\/strong> out?<\/p>\n

When I called they felt like it would be next week before they made it.  That is ok it is working<\/strong> just not perfectly so we could wait.  They called back in a few minutes and said the tech could be here today, his other appointment had canceled.  That is fine I will be here.  I also checked and the welder said he would be here this morning<\/strong> as well.  Boy nothing like waiting for 2 months then they all come at once\u2026<\/p>\n

The H&A guy<\/strong> was first and got here before 10AM.  He found a loose connection on the ERV<\/strong> and agreed the pump was making too much noise so he would order a new one<\/strong> (it is on warranty) and hope to have it by next week early.  The welder showed about 30 minutes later and set<\/strong> up to put the two pieces of the tower together and weld it up.  I rushed in and got the temp pole<\/strong> down and out of the way.  The temp pole:<\/p>\n

They got the new one<\/strong> ready and we pinned it into the base and set<\/strong> it up on a support.  I put the pullies and cable on it and raised it up into place<\/strong> for a temp test.  It is heavy.  A bit<\/strong> heavier than the old one<\/strong> because it has more of the 2 7\/8 pipe and less of the 2inch pipe at the top but maybe it will stand up to the winds a little better?  It also has a guy<\/strong> wire<\/strong> loop at the top and I will tie it off to reduce the waving in the breeze as well.  Here is the new pole<\/strong> in the air with the APRS<\/strong> antenna on and working<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The guy<\/strong> wires on with one<\/strong> for only the SW<\/strong> and one<\/strong> for the NW<\/strong> and not tied off to see how much it will take and get them ready to tie.  I got this up by about 4:45, before everyone got home so it would not be in front<\/strong> of the garage door.  I will let it back down , maybe tomorrow<\/strong>, and get the east guy<\/strong> wire<\/strong> on it as well as a few more antenna pieces.  I did a little testing and the signal strength on several APRS<\/strong> machines was considerably higher.  Maybe even more than before, or it is wishful thinking?<\/p>\n

After all this it was time<\/strong> for a frosty \u201cadult\u201d beverage and some time<\/strong> on the back deck.  As the sun<\/strong> went down this is the view:<\/p>\n
