{"id":63379,"date":"2020-05-12T22:49:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-13T04:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ishmaels.net\/blog\/?p=63379"},"modified":"2020-05-12T17:50:41","modified_gmt":"2020-05-12T23:50:41","slug":"pine-forest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ishmaels.net\/blog\/2020\/05\/12\/pine-forest\/","title":{"rendered":"Pine forest&hellip;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ok, been awhile since an update and not much happens when your \u201csafer at home\u201d\u2026 I have worked on updated some hotspot software, updates to some code plugs and caught a recent 10 meter opening (probably just sporadic E stuff but got some anyway).&#160; In reality I need two more states to finish up WAS from this QTH on 10 meter.&#160; but neither of them were within the opening at least not that I could hear\u2026 so I keep looking and it will happen , some day.&#160; Beyond that exercise I am working very slowly on my next airplane\u2026 I am not happy with how it is coming together but maybe it will turn out ok? <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-SAM_7262.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"1-SAM_7262\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" border=\"0\" alt=\"1-SAM_7262\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-SAM_7262_thumb.jpg?resize=522%2C392&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"522\" height=\"392\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hopefully it will resemble a B-25 when I get a lot more pieces put on\u2026 ? <\/p>\n<p>A weekend ago we took off Sunday for a drive\/meeting back in the country to see the grandsons.&#160; they had all gone to a spot to do some gold panning\u2026 of course the campground where we met was closed but since there are numerous hiking trails in that area there was a parking area outside the locked gate\u2026 We walked down in to the large stream\/river&#160; to meet up and on the way down\u2026 this huge rock sticks out..<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-NIK_2876.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"1-NIK_2876\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" border=\"0\" alt=\"1-NIK_2876\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-NIK_2876_thumb.jpg?resize=522%2C349&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"522\" height=\"349\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It kind of appears to be a turtle or ? Anyway was interesting\u2026 Oh and there were a lot of people there, lots of hikers taking the trails back and several people just playing in the steam at a bridge crossing.<\/p>\n<p>We had a fun time there and then we all headed our various ways back home\u2026 on our way out I spotted this and got a picture since I couldn\u2019t tell what the sign over the door was\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-NIK_2883.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"1-NIK_2883\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" border=\"0\" alt=\"1-NIK_2883\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-NIK_2883_thumb.jpg?resize=524%2C351&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"524\" height=\"351\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Oh, I guess you still can\u2019t tell , so <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-NIK_2883-001.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"1-NIK_2883-001\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" border=\"0\" alt=\"1-NIK_2883-001\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-NIK_2883-001_thumb.jpg?resize=532%2C557&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"532\" height=\"557\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I am sure they named it way before the 60\u2019s but that was a popular saying back then\u2026 and could be used as a hello, or question, or \u201cWhat was that\u201d type saying\u2026 neat old school building anyway and on the left was a \u201cremade\u201d updated log cabin\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-NIK_2884.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"1-NIK_2884\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" border=\"0\" alt=\"1-NIK_2884\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-NIK_2884_thumb.jpg?resize=537%2C359&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"537\" height=\"359\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and on the right was either another cabin or barn or ?&#160;&#160; I tried to find this school by google but no mention that I could see, although there was the largest Colorado wildfire in that area back in 2002 and it was called the Hayman fire<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-NIK_2885.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"1-NIK_2885\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" border=\"0\" alt=\"1-NIK_2885\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-NIK_2885_thumb.jpg?resize=539%2C361&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"539\" height=\"361\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Not sure, looks like an updated cabin with shed and corral but could have been a bunkhouse too?
