Ok this is part 2 and it may be a bit long?   We had been looking at the calendar and figured we better make<\/a> the trip<\/a> to Grand Junction now since we have planned to get it done for the 2 years we have been in Colorado<\/a> this time\u2026 We have some very good old<\/a> friends<\/a> that live over on that side and had promised all that we would make<\/a> the trip<\/a> but it kept getting pushed back? <\/p>\n

So We took off on a Saturday morning early to get there before noon\u2026 We took the road north and across on I-70 and it rained on us from about the tunnel all the way to Glenwood\u2026 It never rains over there they say\u2026 well just let us plan a trip<\/strong> and it will do what it hasn\u2019t done\u2026 ha!<\/p>\n

On the way over I spotted this\u2026 seems there is an underground coal mine\/fire that vents along here\u2026 not sure how long it has been going but clearly it was venting when we passed..<\/p>\n

We got there (GJ), had some lunch and visited then opted for a car ride out to the Colorado<\/a> Monument.<\/p>\n

It is dry and rocky up here..<\/p>\n

They don\u2019t call<\/a> it Canyon land for nothing\u2026<\/p>\n

Old friends.  Not sure but they all frown when I yell HEY!\u2026 oh well\u2026<\/p>\n

As we come back down and into town we pass through the rail yard<\/a> area and I was unaware that GJ<\/strong> is the stack yard<\/a> for old<\/a> Union Pacific engines\u2026 there sure are a lot of older ones here..<\/p>\n

What would you call<\/a> a restaurant that is at the train<\/a> station?<\/p>\n

We visited some more than went out to supper and \u2026. visited some more\u2026 Called it a night about 10pm\u2026 guess<\/a> we will have to make<\/strong> another trip<\/strong> in a few months? <\/p>\n
