Friday and Saturday were craft days at Palmer Lake so we ran over there to check<\/a> it out\u2026 a small showing, but full, not over flowing\u2026 nice craft thing, although more stuff sales than crafts?  anyway I made the short loop and then outside and it was much nicer outside for me..<\/p>\n

Beautiful spot in front of \u201cCity Hall\u201d in Palmer Lake where there is a really nice little park with old<\/a> time<\/a> gazebo and I have see them having music here in the summer..<\/p>\n

Sunday we made a trip<\/a> to Longmont for the last Hamfest of the season out here\u2026 Out here a hamfest is a half day<\/a> affair, no big dealers, no little dealers, only swap experts\u2026 so they are limited in scope, size, sessions, etc.\u2026 they do have one<\/a> joint Rocky Mountain one<\/a> usually that may be a weekend affair\u2026 so for these you get in, you pick your bargains and get out\u2026 This one<\/strong> was not much different than most\u2026 had a reasonable attendance but not what one<\/strong> would look for considering the population of amateurs out here.  Anyway I wanted to make the trip<\/a> and see what this one<\/strong> was about\u2026 More than that it was a really nice day, with a big warning that Monday would be bad weather\u2026 so we took off to enjoy\u2026  I didn\u2019t get any pictures of the swap, and I should have but was totally interested in my bargaining and and a huge table of collected Heathkit gear\u2026 I mean huge\u2026 I counted that they had 5 HW104A\u2019s on that table\u2026 and tons of other Heath collected stuff\u2026 I mention the 104A as that was the first one<\/strong> I had and built myself\u2026 I also built up multiple of the other pieces from that time<\/a> period and they had them all\u2026 I considered buying a duplicate set of my old<\/a> station form them but had other things of interest I wanted more\u2026  Oh well\u2026 <\/p>\n

We then did a short trip<\/strong> into town so Sherrie could check<\/a> out the small yarn shop on main street and then headed back down to Lakewood through Boulder\u2026 that stretch of road<\/a> from Longmont to Boulder is a really pretty stretch of road\u2026 and the recent storm had left the mountain tops a bit<\/a> white with snow\u2026 that storm was last week and dumped some good snow<\/a> on some of the ski areas to the west\u2026 <\/p>\n

Snow caps out there and not all the trees down here are changing yet\u2026<\/p>\n

It is hard to get a really good picture and drive and through the windshield but this is a representative shot\u2026 <\/p>\n

Anyway the temps were in the 70\u2019s and it was really beautiful\u2026 we stopped to see GS#1 and #2 in Lakewood for a little bit<\/p>\n

#2 was playing outside\u2026 actually it was warm enough that he was searching out shade\u2026 ha! but guess what\u2026<\/p>\n

This is how it looks this morning and still snowing off and on\u2026 damn too early for this\u2026 We need some nice fall weather till about ???? next March?<\/p>\n
