This is how you get your real exercise\u2026 climb the ladder<\/a> a hundred times.  Today I spent the day<\/a> replacing the slide<\/a> toppers on the driver side of the RV.  The big one<\/a> had developed a duct tape repair issues so I ordered new material and today was the day<\/a> to replace it.  The videos on YouTube say they did one<\/a> in 20 minutes\u2026 ha! experienced people with an easier situation.  I had to go to the standard method as the hex bars were not all screwed.  They had pop rivets in the ends?  I didn’t want to fiddle with drilling out, and then the issue of twisting off the self<\/a> tapping screw.  (Note: I tested one<\/strong> spot  to see if I could get a new self<\/a> tapping into the hex bar.  I drilled the proper hole, and put the screw in and poof before I got 3 good turns it twisted off\u2026 far enough out that I could vice-grip the piece and get that out so I elected to do the standard method of slide<\/a> out\u2026 tug and pull\u2026 tug and pull and up and down the ladder<\/a> over 100 times\u2026 including getting on the RV<\/strong> roof and off and on and off as well as the ladders. but after about 5 hours we got both replaced. the tops of the slides cleaned off, and lubed the seals.. <\/p>\n

The old big slide<\/strong> topper with the duct tape problem.  it had started separating before our last trip and I had put a temp hold with duct tape on it\u2026 it lasted 200 miles but was fast loosing ground\u2026 <\/p>\n

The top is off. also note I may need<\/a> to replace my small camera.  It sometimes will not open up all the way and I do not notice till \u2026 later.<\/p>\n

Yea, I scrubbed it but didn\u2019t use Bon-ami\u2026 much better than before anyway.<\/p>\n

Now both toppers replaced\u2026 lined up\u2026 rolled in and out several times and locked in place.  amazed I could get it done in less than a day<\/strong> but boy I am wore out form the up and down\u2026 <\/p>\n

I also put on a bicycle carrier mounted to the ladder, and did get the bicycles on it.  Glad it is a temp solution that will likely be permanent as I had to take the front wheels off both to keep them inside the width. <\/p>\n

I also found a few left over pictures that need<\/a> to be shown.  Anyone need<\/strong> a Orange Ladies hat?<\/p>\n

Hey!.. is that chocolate cake over there?  Yes I said \u201call done\u201d but that was only if you were going to keep feeding me pasta\u2026 Cake is different!<\/p>\n

I am tired and even had to cook dinner\u2026 should have pictured that but it was chicken<\/a> breast, split, then mixed up some cream cheese<\/a> with fiesta mix cheese<\/a> and plugged that into some jalapeno’s\u2026 then stuffed the pepper with cheese<\/strong> into the chicken<\/a> breast then wrapped bacon on the outside.  It was good but should have done a little more season to the chicken<\/strong> first To hungry to worry about pictures\u2026 next time<\/a>.<\/p>\n
