The rain<\/a> came\u2026 we waited all Saturday for rain.  Actually we didn\u2019t wait as we did make<\/a> it to the Art thing downtown but didn\u2019t make<\/a> the 10 run as we had in years past.  I was busy getting a few things ready for a long trip.  <\/p>\n

We picked up a few things here.  <\/p>\n

They had some music warming up\u2026 <\/p>\n

Lots of artsy stuff\u2026 I think we got enough junk at home\u2026  <\/p>\n

Yesterday morning we hit<\/a> the road with normal first stop in Perry for a quick breakfast and as we turned in I spotted the unusual\u2026 Tesla station\u2026 First one<\/a> I have seen in these parts..<\/p>\n

They need a lot<\/a> of them as they only go a few hundred miles on a charge but what do you do when it is charging?  Hummm\u2026 <\/p>\n

And it was raining pretty good going north but when I came up on this guy driving backwards as fast as he was I got a bit worried?  turns out it was being towed. Still in the rain<\/a> at first site\u2026 not what you would expect to see.<\/p>\n

We moved right on along and in Kansas the rain<\/strong> dropped down so it was not too bad.  filled up at normal in Salina with potty breaks and off to the west on I-70.  As soon as we got started west I noticed a couple of these types of trucks headed east\u2026 <\/p>\n

Then as we got closer to Colorado there were more and more of them.  I guess<\/a> they had figured the big snow<\/a> was going to cause a lot<\/a> of damage and turned out to not be as bad as predicted still they had prepared and called in hundreds of helpers from all over and we kept seeing them in 2\u2019s and 4\u2019s headed back east.  We also saw a lot<\/strong> of Uncle Jakes trucks headed both ways.  I guess<\/a> he was selling a lot<\/strong> of furniture cause his trucks were on the road.<\/p>\n

We didn\u2019t start to see any snow<\/a> till about Flagler.  I remember living in a 18ft RV back in the day in Flagler\u2026 actually had to finally break down and rent a place as I couldn\u2019t keep the trailer warm. <\/p>\n

As we passed Limon it got heavier and heavier\u2026<\/p>\n

Although no snowing now it had put down a lot<\/strong> of snow..<\/p>\n

Guess several were not prepared for heavy wet snow<\/strong> and hit<\/a> some bad spots\u2026 lucky it didn\u2019t go on through to other side or totally roll over.<\/p>\n

Arrived in Denver with no problems and the traffic was not bad for the cross town run\u2026 but hey it is late on Sunday\u2026 good timing along with the other things\u2026 <\/p>\n

Still noticed a lot<\/strong> of vehicles with plenty<\/a> of snow<\/strong> on top\u2026 so it was plenty<\/a> deep and plenty<\/strong> wet to be stacked that high and not coming off.<\/p>\n

Saw this up front of me at one<\/a> point and it struck me that Mom and Dad always used to refer to Chasing our Tail but that meant they were running in circles and getting nothing done in a hurry\u2026 I feel that way a lot<\/strong> of the time.  <\/p>\n

Got in and enjoyed a nice meal (some green chili \u2013 not great but very welcome) and being wiped, I hit<\/strong> the sack for lights out.  <\/p>\n

Oh, and one<\/strong> small issues with the drive up\u2026 when we stopped in Salina for gas, the damn auto gas<\/a> door<\/a> wouldn\u2019t open\u2026 being cold, windy, wet, etc.  I just pried it open and filled up but of course prying it open was not real good on the latch system and I knew I would have to do it at least one<\/strong> more time before we got to our end point\u2026 but stupid me didn\u2019t think to have Sherrie check the owners manual till, after the second fill up that there must be some alternatives\u2026 hummm\u2026 well yes there are some.  It is a fuse controlled systems so maybe the fuse was out and in the book, it says there is a small lever in the trunk to pull to open the door.  Well when we got to the end point and unloaded the trunk I went back and found that lever and sure enough it works fine if you pull that little tab\u2026 so since it was warm out I got up to the fuse box and tried to figure out which fuse might be blown\u2026 in the book it is #8.  Ok which is number 8?  I can\u2019t see with my glasses and can\u2019t see with out in close proximity like under the dash, so I guessed at two fuses, pulled them and they were fine?  that didn’t make<\/strong> sense?  I put them back in and hit<\/strong> the button and poof it works? My only alternative is that somehow we had packed stuff up so that the little lever would not release\u2026 not likely as it is behind a covered area \u2026 or it just was not making contact before and all the removing and replacing fixed that?  still not sure why by since I was there I did a little pushing, bending and poof fixed the gas<\/a> door<\/a> so that it looks perfect again and still works\u2026 for now?<\/p>\n

More and lesser plans are for the rest of the week as we chauffer and shuffle the kids while their parents are off on a late Christmas trip (they say).  <\/p>\n
