It was a be stuck in the house<\/a> all day<\/a> here\u2026 damn fickle weather\u2026 and then I was told that only 10 miles south they had no snow?  <\/p>\n

Ok, the windows looked like this most of the day<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Peaked out the front door and saw this\u2026 and the wind<\/a> was whipping at about 30mph\u2026 but appears the road<\/a> was melting off? all that warm weather had the ground warmed up from the past few days.<\/p>\n

Glad he had the swing set frame painted bright orange\u2026 shows up.. so it snowed maybe 6 or 8 inches around here but the drifts were plenty big\u2026 early in the day<\/strong> I couldn\u2019t see the second house<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But I hear it was worse north of here\u2026 I-25 north was a parking lot\u2026 suspect that I-70 may be getting some of the same.<\/p>\n

All this reminded me of another storm back in 1977.  I had a meeting<\/a> in Denver (worked for the Govt back then) and it was snowing huge flakes by noon so we called the meeting<\/a> at noon, I grabbed my stuff and hit the road<\/a> in a short wheel base govt pickup\u2026 it was not easy but was moving ok\u2026 better than a lot<\/a> and as I come off Monument hill they were shutting down traffic.  I got through the Springs and it was clear on the south side\u2026 turned east at Pueblo and got into the wind<\/a> and then by Fowler the dirt was bad enough to block out sections of the highway so you couldn\u2019t see but I did get home (LaJunta)\u2026 that night the wind<\/strong> picked up it howled loud and we had dust coming in around all the doors and windows.  We used wet towels to block up some of the big leaks.  We only got a little snow<\/a> but a lot<\/a> of dirt and about 24 to 30 hours solid of really strong wind\u2026 some said it was over 60 to 70 mph winds for most of that time\u2026 it did damage to the local pizza hut roof<\/a> and a few other building around\u2026 North some 40 miles we heard about snow<\/a> drifts as tall as the eves on some houses\u2026 That was the month before Amy was born.  What fun that was.   Now she is in Denver and enjoying some of the same blizzard conditions\u2026 <\/p>\n
