Ok, been a long while but got involved in several things and writing it down was not high on my list\u2026 <\/p>\n

The Month of November was spent in \u201cREDO\u201d\u2026 we never really liked the way the kitchen turned out and wanted several things changed\u2026 when the floor<\/a> tile<\/strong> started popping loose that was the last<\/a> straw so it all came out\u2026 <\/p>\n

The cabinets were ok, liked those we are keeping them but that island<\/a> and counter top was done in granite<\/strong> tile<\/strong> not full granite\u2026 and that island<\/a> was one<\/a> long stretch that just wasn\u2019t ??? what we wanted\u2026 <\/p>\n

So we move all the stuff from the kitchen, laundry and other into the rest of the house\u2026 had to empty out the China cabinet as it was being moved as well\u2026 Got way too much crap\u2026<\/p>\n

So the island<\/strong> came out\u2026 still have some tape on the floor<\/a> for plans we were playing with\u2026 The contractor has the great system of putting in a plastic wall to keep the dust out of the rest of the house\u2026 and a filter to pump it outside\u2026 although due to the odd ceiling we had it found a hole and we got dusted some anyway\u2026 but not as bad as it could have been\u2026 <\/p>\n

ok, we were busing out floor, moving the China cabinet\u2026 and it was messy\u2026 <\/p>\n

With the floor<\/strong> cleared the counters ripped off the marble guy came to measure existing\u2026 interesting machine that builds the CAD drawing\u2026 <\/p>\n

Then they get the sub floor<\/strong> down and we spend an evening with the remodel guy and his cabinet maker, laying out the new island<\/strong> and detailing the storage, etc.\u2026 went from long , skinny to square with cut corners\u2026 <\/p>\n

oh and we are still scrambling to pick out tile<\/strong> and granite\u2026 spent most weekends going everywhere to try and find just what \u201cshe\u201d wanted\u2026 but we did\u2026 I hope\u2026.<\/p>\n

ok, in the middle we got the first of the counter tops in with sink\u2026 still a long way from done but it is a step and then it was off to pick out the back splash \u2026 tile<\/strong> or stone or ? <\/p>\n

Now we could really match up the tile<\/strong> to the counter?  not sure which direction is correct but picked the granite<\/strong> first\u2026 then made sure the tile<\/strong> we pick would work with cabinets and counter\u2026 <\/p>\n

It is tile<\/strong> but really has the appearance of stone and is rough surface like stone with speckles in it\u2026 not more \u201cslick\u201d tile\u2026 this stuff walks real good\u2026 <\/p>\n

And some cosmetic stuff to extend a wall a few inches so that cabinet could be moved to the corner\u2026 and the cabinet moved\u2026 and \u201cwhew\u201d\u2026 thanksgiving well we ain\u2019t doing it here so went to Mother \u2013in-laws for that\u2026 <\/p>\n

Oh and we had an ice storm\u2026 although right here it was not bad, the real ice was west and south of us\u2026 in fact it barely got down to freezing but made the loosing FB game<\/a> more miserable for us\u2026 oh well\u2026 <\/p>\n

before the ice storm there was a lot<\/a> of good color out\u2026 actually about the time we started the remodel\u2026<\/p>\n

ok, back to the project, here laying out the back splash stones\u2026 for a pattern that would work\u2026 <\/p>\n

The back splash is in, needing grout but the design came out ok\u2026 <\/p>\n

The China<\/a> cabinet got it\u2019s top\u2026 moved up\u2026 suspect that will be a \u201clanding\u201d area for all that junk you just drop when you come in\u2026 ? oh well\u2026 it will get granite<\/strong> for a top\u2026<\/p>\n

Ok, we are one<\/a> month in and waiting on the island<\/strong> to be built and the rest of the granite<\/strong> tops to be put in\u2026 not a huge deal for us but still time consuming\u2026 nice to at least have the construction stuff out and able to use the washer, dishes, microwave, etc.\u2026 <\/p>\n

Went to a BB game<\/a> (we lost)\u2026 but coming out caught this in the parking lot\u2026 <\/p>\n

On the front, it has the Kurt Russell shadow used in the FB prelude (Tombstone)\u2026 a bit over the top for me but glad someone else enjoys it\u2026 <\/p>\n

In between I have been real busy working on the next airplane and even more on doing some winter radio contacts\u2026 Trying to capture the last<\/a> couple of states I need<\/a> on the 160 meter band and adding countries to my contact list\u2026 <\/p>\n

So that is the catch up\u2026 with out details\u2026 just too damn busy for being retired\u2026 I need<\/a> a nap!..<\/p>\n
