I appreciate all the Birthday Greetings\u2026 I must inform everyone that I quit having birthdays and have determined that it is best to count them in decades now\u2026 I am only \u201c6\u201d\u2026 which also reduces the problems of candles, and other things (Benny).  This was advised by one<\/a> of the financial advisors to think in the \u201clong term\u201d so that is how I view it now\u2026 long term, short numbers (also a financial condition).  <\/p>\n

So to catch up\u2026 Tuesday and Wednesday I spent trying my best to get ready for a road<\/a> trip and long weekend.  It is not my birthday that counts but that of GS#3 , he will be a whole 1 Sept 9th but we are celebrating on the long weekend\u2026 That meant I had to get the laundry caught up, (yes, I do that too, since Sherrie is working to the end of the year)\u2026 I had to get some repairs done and the NEW \u201crebuilt\u201d computer<\/a> arrived for replacement of part of my hobby functions so I hurried along getting that updated, software installed and all the external functions working\u2026 I have a home weather station<\/a> that was down from the lightening strike 2 weeks ago\u2026 http:\/\/www.ishmaels.net\/wx\/usa.htm<\/a>  that is back up now\u2026 fought some of the issues of moving from one<\/a> computer<\/a> to another and getting all the links put back in\u2026 I also got my security cameras back up and running on the much faster computer<\/strong> so that seems to work much better now\u2026 At some point I will get some replacement cameras for a few of the spots that died\u2026 This one<\/strong> did not die and has a couple of squatters taking up daytime residence..<\/p>\n

I do miss the great back yard view\u2026 that also went to my weather page links on Wunderground\u2026KOKSTILL5\u2026 slowly but surely I am getting a few things back up and running\u2026 not sure why I think I need all that but hey\u2026 hobbies keep me busy\u2026 <\/p>\n

Thursday morning we set out for a \u201croad<\/a> trip\u201d to Colorado<\/a> for the GS#3 birthday\u2026 we start fairly early since it is a long drive, about 10+ hours depending on stops and other things, which on the stops\u2026 yes, first stop<\/a> is breakfast on the road\u2026 Perry\u2026 I wanted to get pictures there but was not inclined to as having a group (only 5 or 6) of the Texas Banditos<\/a>, bike group<\/a> stop<\/a> at the same place, tends to over shadow your desire to picture<\/a> things\u2026 No clue on which way they were going and what they were focused on, other than we all had breakfast and they seemed nice enough so we just moved on. <\/p>\n

Next stop\u2026 hey were old and stop<\/strong> a lot\u2026 was just in Kansas at the first visitors center.  Amazing that Kansas can have a lot<\/a> of road<\/strong> side parks and stops available on the m main roads and Oklahoma only has the one<\/strong> at each end of the state, and only for those coming in and not leaving?  I know the comment  \u201cwell the picture<\/a> was on other toll road\u201d\u2026 but hey, they have stops every 50 miles or so on I-70\u2026 both sides and several on I135 from Wichita up to Salina\u2026 Just saying it appears Oklahoma is doing a poor job of road<\/strong> maintenance and visitor attraction. <\/p>\n

We stopped again in Salina to fill up at the cheaper station<\/a> (Sam\u2019s) and relief as well\u2026 then on west\u2026 not sure, and didn\u2019t look it up but must have been a Jeep thing<\/a> in Eastern Kansas or Missouri? I say that because we saw several jeeps on the road<\/strong> back to Colorado<\/a> with Colorado<\/strong> tags\u2026 maybe just a lot<\/a> of them on vacation to the east?  but this one<\/strong> was a little bit more visible that others\u2026<\/p>\n

Silver and Lime Green accents\u2026 can\u2019t loose that one\u2026, I wouldn\u2019t want to rid it for 600 miles on the interstate\u2026 he wasn\u2019t running over 65 and with those big tires, raised body and open back\u2026 it would be noisy and rough\u2026 good for young people I guess\u2026 <\/p>\n

The road<\/strong> from Salina to The Springs is a bit boring\u2026 so you really need to look for things as you go\u2026 well boring now that we have done it so many times\u2026 anyway I did get one<\/strong> thing<\/a> I had missed before\u2026never notice the patchwork on this grain bin? <\/p>\n

in the light, the green grass, which is usually not green it stood out very visible\u2026 wish I had been able to get a close up but 75 down the road<\/strong> and through the windshield\u2026 that is as good as it gets\u2026 <\/p>\n

When we were about to get to the Spring, after a few more stops along the way, I did get this..<\/p>\n

interesting how the shaft of light down on the light rain shower was sticking out so m much\u2026 looks like a shaft or hail or something else but was pretty sure it was just a break in the clouds shining on that single area of showers\u2026 just interesting\u2026what was even more so was the fact that it was green nearly all the way across\u2026 almost never is it green in the far east and western Kansas this time of year\u2026 early spring, maybe and mid fall, maybe but first of Sept\u2026 unusual\u2026 <\/p>\n

We got into the kids and were treated to a very vibrant rainbow and then a double\u2026 <\/p>\n

The picture<\/strong> still does not do it justice and damn I got that light post right in the way\u2026 oh well and the double was pretty light but was there..<\/p>\n

Today, we didn\u2019t do a lot\u2026 got out, did a little shopping for special stuff, while out I caught this sign\u2026 <\/p>\n

Hummm, Brain Development\u2026 I could use some of that\u2026 but should of found that place 40 years ago..or more?<\/p>\n

We took a few pictures for GS#3 for the day\u2026 <\/p>\n

We then made a run in town and then Sherrie and I went to Florence and took my sister out for dinner\u2026 nothing fancy\u2026 just a burger and took it to the park in Canon\u2026 nice evening\u2026on the way back got a picture<\/strong> of this great stump art..<\/p>\n
