Ok, I got back on to track this morning\u2026 up, out and got in 2 miles or a bit<\/a> more walk\u2026 I think I got scolded for being so lazy the past months (just too damn hot to be out there)..<\/p>\n

Hey, he was in the shade and swanking\u2026 not sure if it was me or something else?  <\/p>\n

When I got home<\/a> I immediately got on the mower, cause my nieces son complained Saturday that I need to mow\u2026 I offered that he could do it but he just went home<\/a> (he is 5)\u2026 So I got the front mowed by 10 am and ran out of gas<\/a> in one tank so figured I better get the jugs filled before I run out in the other tank\u2026 I put the hitch packer on and went to the local station that sells \u201creal gas\u201d with no ethanol\u2026 I prefer that for small engines like the mower and weed eater\u2026 some say the ethanol will tear up those small engines due to less lubrication?  I don\u2019t about all that but I don\u2019t need to take a chance so a few dollars more won\u2019t hurt the mower any\u2026 got that done and back\u2026 filled the tanks all up and added a little additive to ensure that if I don\u2019t use all the gas<\/a> it should keep till next spring\u2026 the grass has pretty much quit growing in all but the spots that get a little extra water or in shady spots\u2026 and I am not watering the grass just so I can mow it either\u2026 That is a double cost and makes little sense to me\u2026 although all those people<\/a> with nice pretty green lawns sure look nice but ?  Few can actually see much of my lawn anyway\u2026 which is ok by me\u2026 <\/p>\n

It was then about lunch<\/a> time<\/a> so I took the back way in to pick up Sherrie, cause the kids are all back and in school and the main roads are really hazardous now\u2026 at lunch<\/a> I get 3 pennies for change and since I had been working on my coin collection over the past month I immediately tried to get the dates on them\u2026 I am going to need to carry a magnifying glass if I need to do that\u2026 just do not focus on small stuff , even with the glasses like I used to\u2026 I did get one that for some reason I didn\u2019t have one in the book?  Although I was into coin back in the 80\u2019s and a lot before that as a kid I saved coins then once a year would go through that big jar of pennies pulling good ones and and spending or rolling the others\u2026 Anyway, I got the bug again from doing my new inventory and figured I need to get caught up from about 1985 to present\u2026 I had a few of the in-between saved back but had not put them in the coin folder and now I am trying to fill it out to 2015 with \u201clike new\u201d coins as I catch them in my change or ??? <\/p>\n

When I dropped Sherrie off after lunch<\/strong> I figured I needed to get a picture of the East \u201cdecoration\u201d that the horticulture\/grounds crew has up\u2026 <\/p>\n

The university is celebrating 125 years of existence\u2026 1890 \u2013 2015\u2026 <\/p>\n

When I get a Round TUIT\u2026 wait\u2026 I have several so can\u2019t use that excuse??? will think up another one\u2026<\/p>\n

Anyway. I got home, finished up the mowing\u2026 then pulled out the weed eater and proceeded to \u201cwhack\u201d down some of those edge weeds and grasses that needed it\u2026 and got totally wore down doing that for an hour\u2026 so put it up and went to put another brace on my 160 meter antennas pole  in the NE<\/a> corner\u2026 that treated lumber I got was soft and very \u201cbend-able\u201d\u2026 damn thing<\/a> had a 30 degree bend in the 2×4 at the top of the post and then another 2 15 degree bends (in two different directions) at the top\u2026 I had a 10 ft.  piece of ? U channel iron I had gotten years ago for an antennas pole<\/a> project that never came about , so I mounted that on the back side of the 2×4\u2026 got it pulled up a lot straighter but still wonder how long that will last as the screws I put in just zipped in so that wood is still really soft?  They don\u2019t sell good wood anymore\u2026 So since the screws went in too easy, I tied some guys on that pole<\/a> near the top so I can keep it kind of straight up till it gets good and dry?  maybe? <\/p>\n

I came in and drank about a quart of cold tea and rested up a bit<\/a> before dinner\u2026 I pulled out some Fish Fillets and grilled them up \u2026 that and a salad and the left over Mac-r-cheese was dinner\u2026, oh I did slice up a really big fresh peach and with a big scoop of ice cream \u2026 that finished dinner\u2026 I know\u2026 eat healthy then ruin it with the ice cream but hey\u2026 I \u2018m retired\u2026 <\/p>\n

I have come to figure out what retired means\u2026 Retired = twice tired\u2026 <\/p>\n

For the evening activity, I went back to the shop and played radio\u2026 making a few more contacts off the new loop antennas\u2026 still testing but did ok for a summer evening\u2026 it should start to get better in a month or so and I can move down a band or two\u2026 <\/p>\n

When I got in to put this all down tonight it occurred to me\u2026 all those people<\/a> asking me what will you do in retirement\u2026 Hell, I have too much to do\u2026 most of those people<\/strong> had no hobbies and work was all they did, of real measure\u2026 me.. I have too damn many hobbies\u2026 I really need to get on that other airplane, it sets about half done at present\u2026 I want to get a bunch more of the humming birds cut out and put together (to give away)\u2026 but cant get to them until I get the plane done.. I got the antenna up for 160 meter a bit<\/strong> faster than I had figured I would now I need for the fall and winter quiet time<\/a> to hit so I can work on 160 meters\u2026 and the coins\u2026 always looking for a few good coins now\u2026 adding to the already over supply of them and that in it\u2019s self can be a real time<\/strong> consuming hobby if you have to magnify them and guess it mate the quality of the coin to figure out if it is better than the ones you have? oh and to that end you need a good inventory, which I really never had so now I have a nice software program that I am putting all of them into with estimates on grades, etc.\u2026 so I now can more easily look up the coins and see, \u201cdo I have that one or a better one\u201d\u2026 so being retired is not problem for me\u2026 finding enough time<\/strong> and deciding on what hobby I am going to tackle each day is more than enough to keep me busy for awhile\u2026 oh and add to that Grand kids and family and then travel, events I want to attend, clubs I am a member or, etc.\u2026 I think I can stay busier than I want to be\u2026 but back to the beginning?  How many hobbies are enough? I am not sure there are too many?  just priority opportunities\u2026 <\/p>\n
