Today it occurred to me\u2026 well, actually it almost happened to me, as you see that a lot<\/strong> of the students are coming back to town and the driving gets much more \u201cintense\u201d when they are here\u2026 In the past few days I have been cut off, passed by several doing at least 15 over the speed limit<\/strong> (I know that cause I was at the limit), and generally gotten pissed-off several times.  Today, when we went to lunch\u2026 poof every place<\/strong> in town was packed?  I was about to say, what the HELL is going on here but then realized\u2026 oh yea\u2026 the Sorority girls started back in last Friday to prep for Rush\u2026 the guys came this week to watch the girls, next week it will be worse as they start collecting for and doing RUSH\u2026 oh well\u2026 I do enjoy the activities that the university provide here\u2026 actually there are a lot<\/strong> of things that do not include the sports programs, even though we do those too, cause they are here\u2026 and we can. <\/p>\n

Beyond all that the construction around town and campus is still pretty much in full swing and you never know which streets will be blocked with some sort of work going on\u2026 I guess that calls for\u2026<\/p>\n

Although I am sure the students will be making more use of that than I\u2026<\/p>\n

This week I did finish up the tri-wing airplane for GS#1\u2026 it has taken me way too long to get it done but I have included several new options and I had to find just the right parts for some of it\u2026 Since I thought I was short a can for the front<\/strong> cowling I came up with two options for that\u2026 one<\/strong> with similar gold and strips and the other black with some gold\u2026 since the plane<\/strong> is gold\u2026 not sure which is better so GS#1 will decide or maybe keep the parts for a change out if he gets tired of one<\/strong> front?  who knows\u2026 (Note: the cans were from when I worked in Algeria and I would cut some and bring them home<\/strong> every month and save them back for these special projects\u2026 we got some gold cans in over there and I found enough for this plane\u2026 yesterday I found I have just enough for one<\/strong> more plane<\/strong> so maybe GS#3 will get one<\/strong> of those?)  <\/p>\n

At this point I had the machine guns on and the rotary engine on\u2026 that was about a week or more ago\u2026 needed some pieces for the struts..<\/p>\n

While open this was a test<\/strong> of the black cowl on the engine?<\/p>\n

And the white with gold strips\u2026 at this point the strips looked cool\u2026 to me?<\/p>\n

all finished with a temp install of the white with gold front\u2026? <\/p>\n

Swap out the white for the black front\u2026 but the black does more hide the black guns?  but since I was unsure\u2026 I did just make<\/strong> it so we can swap when ever\u2026 <\/p>\n

and yes, this version has a control stick, pilot seat and a control panel with gauges\u2026 kind of hard to see but they are down in there\u2026 <\/p>\n

Probably a lot<\/strong> of lost detail that will never be seen once we hang it from his ceiling\u2026 it is not a plane<\/strong> to be played with, just to be looked at and hang out of little kids reach\u2026 ha!<\/p>\n

Along with the plane<\/strong> work and radio stuff and other small projects I have had to re-establish my inventory of coins\u2026 I started a coin collection when I was in grade school\u2026 it has grown and I have jumped in with spurts of activity and then long periods of nothing but I figured I better get a better inventory of the whole thing\u2026 it don\u2019t have a lot<\/strong> of value but I do have a lot<\/strong> of coins\u2026 mostly pennies as a kid with no money can only collect small coins\u2026 ha!  But is amazing now what some of those pennies are worth to a real collector\u2026 I put in maybe a couple of hours a day and have been doing the inventory for over a week\u2026 lot<\/strong> of pennies\u2026 but I get side tracked at times too, looking for info on some of the odd pieces\u2026 oh well\u2026 just another hobby that can sure keep you busy\u2026 <\/p>\n

Yesterday Sherrie called after work and the battery was dead in the car\u2026 hum!\u2026 I got back in to give it a jump-start and she said the battery was about 3.5 years old\u2026 and it was an 84 month warranty battery?  So today I took it to the parts store where I got the battery and they tested and said \u2026 it appeared my alternator was not working, \u201cbad diodes\u201d\u2026 hum! so I took it to the Toyota place<\/strong> and had  them test<\/strong> it\u2026 they gave me a report that said the alternator was putting out 13.6 volts but when tested off the battery only had about 110 CCA\u2026 and it should have had about 750.   the really good thing\u2026 the Toyota shop didn\u2019t charge me for the test\u2026 but they do all the service work or have for several years so they probably figure they can make<\/strong> it up on the next one\u2026 I then went back to the battery place<\/strong> and showed them the report and got a battery ( although past the 3 year limit) it was half price exchange\u2026 This exercise took all morning\u2026 sure glad I didn\u2019t have much planned \u2026 oh year, retired\u2026 Got it washed and then delivered back so Sherrie has a ride home\u2026<\/p>\n

When  I got home<\/strong> from lunch and all the running around I got busy working on some Green Chili\u2026 I had gotten the meat out yesterday and it needed to be cooked up\u2026 so my big afternoon was getting the Green Chili on to simmer for a few hours then tonight I will split it into double serving size bags and freeze it\u2026probably won\u2019t need to make<\/strong> that again for a few months as this time it was bigger than I had planned\u2026 but oh well\u2026 <\/p>\n
