Ok, no cruise today or rather just up a bit<\/strong> to dock \u2026 <\/p>\n

About 6:30AM coming into Vancouver\u2026 <\/p>\n

Downtown and the heliport\u2026 later we learned the funny top on the building to the right<\/strong> is the \u201cseaplane and heliport air traffic center\u201d  they have a huge sea plane port<\/strong> we couldn\u2019t see from here way off to the right<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Bit more of down town.. and blow is the water bus<\/strong> ferry\u2026 <\/p>\n

After a lot<\/strong> of chaos and waiting we got on a bus<\/strong> to leave for the airport\u2026 that was the convention center and the blue thing<\/strong> is to be a raindrop\u2026 <\/p>\n

Bus driver said this was \u201cart\u201d\u2026 it was done to depict where the elevators were in the building to the right<\/strong> and sure enough they move up and down in relation to the elevators.. <\/p>\n

We also were told this is a very \u201cGREEN\u201d city and they are moving to all electric buses for downtown\u2026 replacing the old trolleys.. they also have the highest housing (average home<\/strong> is about 1 million) they have a very high density of population in the downtown areas\u2026 <\/p>\n

The downtown library built as replica to Roman Coliseum\u2026 <\/p>\n

Of course we were way too late for the World Cup (women’s) but that is the stadium they won the cup in\u2026 we went around it on at least two side \u2026 hard to get pictures out a bus<\/strong> window.. <\/p>\n

Really bad picture but as we passed by he told us that that is a Home Depot store\u2026 but they have about 4 or 5 floors of condo\u2019s on top of it due to space problems in town\u2026 Living above the home<\/strong> depot?  not a good idea for some guys\u2026<\/p>\n

The electric bus<\/strong> yard.<\/p>\n

\"SAM_3017\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Once we got into the airport, checked in, etc.\u2026 in our end I found the collection of Donald Duck figures from 1912 to 2012\u2026. they are on both sides of the thing\u2026 <\/p>\n

And they had Mickey and it took 3 of these cabinets on both sides.. <\/p>\n

\"SAM_3040\"<\/a><\/p>\n

As we left we could see a lot<\/strong> of the islands and ocean out from Vancouver\u2026 <\/p>\n

\"SAM_3047\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And a volcano or two\u2026<\/p>\n

So ended the Alaska Cruise\u2026 I think we could do it again but maybe a different ship<\/strong> or different direction or?  not sure\u2026 it was a lot<\/strong> of fun, saw a lot<\/strong> of things we had not seen before\u2026 great experience and nothing bad about the ship\u2026 they did a great job of meals, shows, and excursion availability\u2026 no complaints but if you don\u2019t change<\/strong> you don\u2019t know what else is out there\u2026 oh well\u2026 for a later thing<\/strong> to check out\u2026 We heard that this ship<\/strong> \u2013 the Celebrity Millennium will do the China coast or something over there\u2026, I had seen earlier that it did the New Zealand tour but I guess they all change\u2026 <\/p>\n

We got into OKC about 10;30, got our bags and home<\/strong> about 11:45\u2026 it was way after midnight to get to bed\u2026 and the cat sure was glad to see us\u2026 maybe she thought she had been abandoned\u2026 <\/p>\n

I have a lot<\/strong> more pictures of what we saw\u2026 a lot<\/strong> of really bad ones but some ok ones beyond what I have here\u2026 if I get around to it, I may get them into an album on my Google\/Picasa stuff\u2026 who knows. <\/p>\n
