We did get up in time<\/strong> to catch the shuttle down to the train\u2026 got there and we were way early\u2026 although not a lot as people started showing up about 5 minutes after we did.  We got checked in, checked the bags to the train<\/strong> and then waited in the waiting room\u2026 <\/p>\n

Across from the train<\/strong> station<\/strong> and hey , it is 5 AM\u2026 and the sun has been up for about an hour\u2026 although it is slow to really light up\u2026 it just never gets dark here during June and July\u2026 or parts of it anyway\u2026 <\/p>\n

The crowd in the station<\/strong> got a bit thick\u2026 but we made it\u2026<\/p>\n

Whew, finally letting us get out and on board\u2026 We were too late to get a domed car ticket\u2026 but ours was ok\u2026 we could see most of what we wanted to\u2026 <\/p>\n

Still happy at this point even though we had only gotten 5 hours sleep<\/strong> in the past 2 days\u2026 <\/p>\n

It was low tide for the turnagain arm<\/a>\u2026 so lots and lots of mud<\/strong> flats\u2026 I remember back in the long ago\u2026 when we were here before, that some of these were filled with Bald Eagles fishing but we were here earlier back then and I suspect they are closer to the nests now with young ones to feed\u2026? <\/p>\n

Just a view of the clouds hanging on the mountains out of Anchorage\u2026<\/p>\n

See where the drains in the mud<\/strong> flats are\u2026 <\/p>\n

One old glacier valley that was filled by one<\/strong> of the  previous earth quakes\u2026 shook the Jell-O out and filled it up\u2026 now a bog or sorts..<\/p>\n

Since we had driven the road to Seward, years ago, and the train<\/strong> ride was recommended as you go places the road doesn\u2019t we did enjoy it\u2026 saw a few glaciers we didn\u2019t see form the highway and some really unusually cloud systems hanging on the peaks\u2026 <\/p>\n

Tunnels in the snow from water<\/strong> melt coming on through\u2026 <\/p>\n

An abundance of water<\/strong> falls\u2026 <\/p>\n

The front of the train<\/strong> passing a curve and the glacier in the background\u2026 amazing sites\u2026 <\/p>\n

how about a double or triple reflection lake\u2026? another one<\/strong> of those just amazing things\u2026 <\/p>\n

We went straight to the ship<\/strong> from the train\u2026 checked in\u2026 got lunch on the ship<\/strong> and shortly were allowed to find out cabin\u2026 so we could nap and rest up\u2026 ship<\/strong> left port at about 8pm\u2026 long sail to Hubbard Glacier\u2026<\/p>\n

The harbor at Seward\u2026 really a pretty big harbor for a very small town\u2026 back in our first trip up we took the Kenai Fjords tour from here and that was amazing as well\u2026 since we had done it we skipped it this time<\/strong> but saw them going out\u2026 <\/p>\n

pulling out into the open and yes it is probably 9pm\u2026 <\/p>\n

As we sail out I spot that house on the way far shore\u2026 there were several more to the left\u2026 but this one\u2026<\/p>\n

Wow!\u2026 what a view and what a place<\/strong> to be\u2026 suspect no roads, only access by boat or plane\u2026 I would love to have a house like that\u2026 but maybe down in Colorado or a bit further south\u2026 ? although it seldom gets horrible cold here next to the water\u2026 just wet all the time\u2026 <\/p>\n

So ended day two\u2026 sailing along and being rocked to sleep..<\/p>\n
