Today was my plan to get some maintenance done on Sherries car.  The damn idiot warning light for oil change came on last weekend so  it was time<\/strong> to get the oil changed\u2026 along with that I had figured to replace a couple of the tires as 6 months ago they had to take on off and put the spare on as one<\/strong> was bald\u2026 and it was in the spare spot\u2026 so\u2026 I took Sherrie to work, stopped and had a bit of breakfast and then took the car to get the oil changed.  I use the Toyota dealer hear (Janzen) as they are about the same price as Walmart now, and just as fast or faster, and they check<\/strong> other stuff and can fix it\u2026 like today in doing the 25 or what ever point inspection they came in with the cabin air filter and it was really dirty so we had that replace as well as the engine filter\u2026 I did double check<\/strong> my records and didn\u2019t find we had done that in the past 3 years\u2026 As I was headed out I noticed in the \u201ccustomer\u201d fridge this coke can and just had to have it\u2026 I mean, I am doing all this service today so ???<\/p>\n

In my running from dealer to town again I came on this :<\/p>\n

now I am not perfect at age and ID but this one<\/strong> was easy\u2026 1967 GTO\u2026WOW\u2026 no one<\/strong> was around so not sure what the deal was here?  <\/p>\n

This is probably why the age was easy?  huh?<\/p>\n

It was dirty (although the pictures don\u2019t show it and it did have several dings in the paint showing it may have been blue at one<\/strong> time?  and it was full of crap in the seats?  but maybe it is on a cross country trip and got delayed here? <\/p>\n

After a few pictures and salivating some I headed on to Discount Tire and had them put on 2 new tires\u2026 but it wasn\u2019t that simple.. I had them check<\/strong> all the tires including the spare, put the two new on the front, put the next best two on the back and the next best back in as spare\u2026 I knew the spare was the worst as it was bald 6 months ago\u2026 and from all accounts, checking tires and such they did get them all as detailed\u2026 but that was expensive just for 2 tires , although about $150 less than the dealer quoted on similar tires.  Still, with the tires I had spent about $500 in a bit over 2 hours\u2026 OUCH!<\/p>\n

Once the tires were done, and done about an hour before I had figured they would be, had a little time<\/strong> to kill so headed down main street for no real particular reason\u2026 as I was crossing 9th I had to turn back and stop again\u2026<\/p>\n

1939 Ford ( another WOW) and it had an OSU retired parking sticker in it\u2026 I don\u2019t remember seeing it on campus but maybe?  <\/p>\n

Still I had time<\/strong> to waste before picking Sherrie up for lunch and it was too short of time<\/strong> to go home and I didn\u2019t have much else to do so I figured why not stop at the antique\/Junque dealer on south main that I have never been in \u2026 <\/p>\n

The place is full of a lot<\/strong> of that expensive JUNQUE\u2026 old doors, windows, tables, benches and a lot<\/strong> of stuff that is made up to look old\u2026 including signs and metal work?  I did spot a few interesting things\u2026<\/p>\n

Had not thought about it but pretty accurate\u2026 I have one<\/strong> in a bit better shape , I think?  I only used it back in the 70\u2019s\u2026 in the oil field that wasn\u2019t enough food\u2026 you needed a big box and we learn to stop when ever we smell or find a food place as you didn\u2019t know when the next chance might present itself\u2026 <\/p>\n

I don\u2019t think I have ever seen a \u201cCoca-Cola" bicycle?  but here it is\u2026 <\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t get may other pictures in there\u2026 just a lot<\/strong> of JUNQUE\u2026 one<\/strong> sign did say \u201cEclectic Collection\u201d yep\u2026 fits\u2026 I still had plenty of time<\/strong> so went by Chuck\u2019s to talk with AJ\u2026 he had to tell me he had joined the club\u2026he now had hearing aids\u2026 inherited one<\/strong> but adjusted to his loss and he was amazed at what he could now hear\u2026 We discussed several world problems and think we may have solved one<\/strong> or two but forgot to write down the answers so guess we will have to do that over\u2026 by then it was time<\/strong> and I was off to pick up Sherrie\u2026 <\/p>\n

For lunch we figured we might go to Taco Mayo and have the Alumni special (BOGO<\/strong> taco salad)\u2026 on arrival I spotted that the Duct tape had give out\u2026<\/p>\n

Not sure what he can see in that mirror now?  might need<\/strong> a new roll or two?  wrap it around the car it will work better\u2026 OUCH!<\/p>\n

When we got in we found they had new people again\u2026 this one<\/strong> has had a lot<\/strong> of problems with employees, managers, and various other things\u2026 but the food was generally ok (for fast MEX)\u2026 but when we pulled out or card they said that they no longer did the BOGO<\/strong> salads\u2026 it was now the Burrito\u2026 Hey no one<\/strong> informed us of the change\u2026so since they wouldn\u2019t honor the old BOGO<\/strong> I determined to show my customer right and we left\u2026 for Taco Bell\u2026 I know going down hill fast?  but I like the Bell and they give me my Senior discount and we can eat there for under $9\u2026 yep I have said it before and will say it again\u2026 I like cheap\u2026 well most times\u2026 when it doesn\u2019t make much difference and I don\u2019t want to wait a long time\u2026 we go cheap\u2026 OUCH\u2026  Even thought it was cheap, I guess I am just real lucky\u2026 how many times can you pull the one<\/strong> and only straw that missed the cutting machine\u2026?<\/p>\n

If only I could get some good luck and get a lottery ticket to work like my bad luck\u2026<\/p>\n

When I got home I headed to the shop and before I could get on that airplane\u2026 I saw a pile of scrap can and figured why not cut a few humming birds\u2026 so I got two of them cut out and one<\/strong> built before I was interrupted by a phone call from another of my old friends and had to jump to go get Sherrie\u2026 <\/p>\n

I did get a piece of extra put in with my birds<\/strong> and got the picture of the \u201ccluster:\u2026<\/p>\n

Not to get it all way but the center piece for the birds<\/strong> is a fishing lure\u2026 I may need<\/strong> to put a swivel on the top end so it will spin more?  but not sure as when it is solid like now the birds<\/strong> wings spin a lot<\/strong> more\u2026 Some testing is needed here.  Since that \u201ccluster\u201d worked I will need<\/strong> to get a couple more and finish up a few more birds\u2026 <\/p>\n

Earlier in the afternoon before going back I came out to hang a bird and spotted\u2026. some new friends in the yard\u2026 I had been hearing them for weeks but had not seen any\u2026 but today they were in my back yard\u2026 and not real scared of me, although they did move to the trees<\/strong> pretty quick\u2026<\/p>\n

Just to add to that\u2026 when I took the trash up to the street for collection in the morning\u2026 two more (I say two more as I could hear one<\/strong> back off in the trees<\/strong> while I had these two in the neighbors yard\u2026<\/p>\n

Since our neighbor to the west had cleared 90% of the trees<\/strong> and insists she needs to mow the pasture like it were a city lawn(120 acres gets mowed every week)\u2026 We had not see or heard any of these\u2026 that has been about 6 years now\u2026 but they are coming back in some other spots now\u2026 which is great to see\u2026 just hope the cats don\u2019t find them all\u2026 <\/p>\n

Spent the evening working on the body of the new airplane and had to do a little radio as the weekly net was on\u2026 so busy day<\/strong> again\u2026 just like I want it\u2026<\/p>\n
