Well, the GS\u2019s left this morning early\u2026 had to get back so GS#1 could have his \u201cHockey\u201d practice\u2026 yes, he is taking Hockey instead of baseball\u2026 and why not?  When it is hot outside wouldn\u2019t you rather go to a nice cool ice rink and learn to skate and do those things instead of standing out in the hot sun\u2026 I know me and Grandma enjoyed going<\/strong> to watch a few weeks ago instead of setting out in the sun or rain or wind blowing dirt off the baseball field\u2026 <\/p>\n

Once we got them packed and off to the next big think we took off as well for breakfast\u2026 usual for us\u2026 Braums\u2026 nothing exciting\u2026 well, maybe we should fix our own breakfast but when I buy too much stuff for such things we end up throwing out a lot<\/strong> of food cause we never get to it\u2026 like eggs, milk, leftovers, etc.\u2026 so we limit our stuff to much smaller amounts and tend to either just not eat or eat lite stuff where we can find it\u2026 all that said\u2026 we probably should not do it so much\u2026 just lazy\u2026<\/p>\n

From there I was going<\/strong> to go to Habitat and drop off some donation\u2026 too early?  they don\u2019t open till 9 and that was after we had been to the farmers market (yes we still do go there and buy small amounts of fresh stuff in smaller quantities that are not as likely to be thrown out\u2026 damn stores sell things in \u201cfamily\u201d size quantities and that is usually twice what we need and the other half is wasted\u2026 <\/p>\n

We got some fresh tomatoes, squash and corn\u2026 hope to fix some tonight maybe\u2026<\/p>\n

But since the habitat was not open and the stores were not open\u2026 we just came on home\u2026 <\/p>\n

When I got home<\/strong> I did a little looking for things this weekend and damn, forgot there is a car<\/strong> show at the Elks today so at 10 AM I was back off to see that\u2026 <\/p>\n

Amazing that it had not been overly advertised for the \u201c\u201dnone-car\u201d crowd\u2026 I found it in several of the Car enthusiasts areas later\u2026 but they had over 75 cars in there by the noon call\u2026 Nice collection of cars\u2026 <\/p>\n

and a great place<\/strong> to have it under the trees in a really nice shaded spot\u2026some breeze and it was every bit<\/strong> 10 to 15 degrees cooler back in there\u2026 <\/p>\n

Of course there was a nice collection of Orange cars\u2026<\/p>\n

Now this one<\/strong> , was not old but sure was fixed up\u2026 note the engine was even painted the car<\/strong> color which the description says is a special orange\u2026 <\/p>\n

An over the top Jeep with more upgrades than you can count\u2026 although there were enough stickers for the upgrades\u2026<\/p>\n

I finished up here and had a bit<\/strong> of lunch as Sherrie stayed home<\/strong> (afraid it would be hot out on the parking lot)\u2026 Got back home<\/strong> and did some work on the photos and got them stored away\u2026 and posts updated\u2026 <\/p>\n

Looking for more things to do this afternoon\u2026?  <\/p>\n

Well we did look and figured , why not make<\/strong> a run to OKC to return a \u201crebuilt\u201d battery to the Battery Plus in Edmond and then make<\/strong> the run over to Green Chili Kitchen<\/a> in Yukon (they are supposed to make<\/strong> REAL green chili like Colorado and New Mexico style \u2013 with pork)\u2026 We left home<\/strong> about 4 pm or a bit<\/strong> after\u2026 got to Edmond about 5 and I waited a while to get some service\u2026 they had one<\/strong> guy that new and one<\/strong> trainee\u2026 the trainee tried to help but what I needed he had no clue\u2026 I wanted to have one<\/strong> fixed (again) and check<\/strong> in rebuilding the one<\/strong> for the Roomba.  While I waited I found one<\/strong> for the Roomba on the shelf for $55\u2026 I had plenty of time so I checked Amazon and I can buy another one<\/strong> for $29\u2026 so what do you think I would do?  I waited a bit<\/strong> more then when I did get a chance to ask the technician about my battery (just had it fixed in May, although it was rebuilt back in April of 2014\u2026 all he said was it was off warranty and they wouldn\u2019t fix it or ship it to me with out a full charge for new stuff\u2026 I said that wouldn\u2019t work and would leave it till they talked to the manager\u2026 if it will cost me a bunch to fix then I will just forget it\u2026 <\/p>\n

So at this point I am 0 for 1.<\/p>\n

We then got directions to an Asian market in china town that Sherrie wanted to check<\/strong> for kids chop-stix\u2026 after some meandering we found the market\u2026 had a very hard time finding chop stix at first then found them but no kids ones? <\/p>\n

They did have a lot<\/strong> of fresh fish\u2026 some really fresh\u2026<\/p>\n

We finally asked and found that they did have kids chop stix with training wheels\u2026 but at $3 each set we were not sure we needed them \u2026 <\/p>\n

so we opted out of that and that was our reason for going<\/strong> there\u2026<\/p>\n

We are not 0 for 2\u2026<\/p>\n

I did get a bottle of Sweet Hot chili sauce to try on my next chicken grill\u2026 <\/p>\n

Next was to head west for Yukon and the Green<\/strong> Chili\u2026 we can\u2019t get that anywhere around here and till recently we only get it if I make<\/strong> it or we go to Colorado\u2026 so trying a place<\/strong> that is supposed to make<\/strong> the traditional Green<\/strong> chili Stew\u2026 is high on my list of things to check<\/strong> out\u2026 well\u2026 we got on Route 66 and headed west\u2026 that was interesting as we passed an old Original Arby\u2019s sign \u2026<\/p>\n

Not many of the old originals left\u2026 most are copy signs that are smaller\u2026 <\/p>\n

We followed the nav in my phone and found the Green<\/strong> Chili Kitchen\u2026. CLOSED!\u2026 The air conditioners had gone out and at 2pm it was just too hot in the place<\/strong> for even the cooks so they shut it down till they can get the units fixed\u2026 Well S*** a brick!\u2026 <\/p>\n

Now 0 for 3\u2026..<\/p>\n

We discussed what next\u2026 ok, lets go to some place<\/strong> we don\u2019t normally go to \u2026 the idea of German and Cajun popped up so we opted for the Pearls Cajun Kitchen\u2026 I hadn\u2019t realized it but there is a trend here with the word Kitchen\u2026 but more for that later\u2026 we headed back down Route 66\u2026 went south on Council to Reno and then down Reno to Meridian and headed south there\u2026 arriving at where Pearls used to be we find\u2026 It is gone and is now a something 5 grill \u2026 son of a \u2026. gun!\u2026 \u2026 <\/p>\n

Now we are 0 for 4\u2026.. <\/p>\n

Ok do we head for another Cajun restaurant or German\u2026 the only German we knew of was way over East of OKC almost to Shawnee\u2026 but we did a Yelp search and found one<\/strong> in south OKC that was closer than the Cajun we found, and according to YELP it head a 4 star rating\u2026 it was called\u2026 wait for it\u2026. Ingrids Kitchen<\/a>\u2026 So we put in the route and off we went\u2026 to a very non-descript place<\/strong> in the middle of nothing\u2026 it was busy so we went in\u2026 there was a big group in there and you  had to stand by all the glass counters filled with cakes, and cookies and stuff\u2026<\/p>\n

That was one<\/strong> counter and there was another like it on the other side of that far corner\u2026 but we did get to order a meal (although the German menu is pretty short\u2026 consists of schnitzel and Brats of 5 kinds\u2026 hum?  they did list German potato salad , and red cabbage would be with the m meal)\u2026 We ordered the plate meals of schnitzel and I got the bigger one<\/strong> with a brat\u2026 they were pretty fast and when it came out it looked ok\u2026 <\/p>\n

the sauerkraut was really decent\u2026 not over powering and the schnitzel was ok but would be better in a sandwich\u2026 The red cabbage was \u2026.. not so good and the German potato salad was ok by me but Sherrie thought it was too tangy or bitter\u2026 so all in all \u2026 we had a very hard time finding 4 stars here maybe 2 or 3\u2026 but the atmosphere would rank it way on down the list as while we were there they had a shop-vac going<\/strong> constant to suck out the drains as the sign on the door said the restrooms were broken???? although we say people head that way?  and they brought the bucket of SUCK water right by our table to get it out\u2026 oh boy that was appetizing\u2026 <\/p>\n

So now we appear to be 0 for 5\u2026. (not earlier I said KITCHEN was a reoccurring word here)\u2026 <\/p>\n

I did notice a sign that said 5 for $5 after 5\u2026 and it was well after 5 and that sign indicated the desert counter nearest us\u2026 hummmm could it be?  We asked and yes\u2026 this counter so we looked and picked 5 of the best and ate half of a macaroon (it we really good) and we have all the rest of this left for later\u2026 <\/p>\n

A really big piece of strudel, half the macaroon, two large carrot cup cakes and that pineapple filled thing on top\u2026 \u2026 now that was a win\u2026 <\/p>\n

we are now 1 for 6\u2026. <\/p>\n

We headed back to Edmond to check<\/strong> on where the other Cajun place<\/strong> was on Broadway (Bigheads<\/a>)\u2026 it was reasonably busy but they had a small car<\/strong> show\/cruise stop out front that was probably more interesting\u2026 although we just drove through the lot<\/strong> and then headed over to Sam\u2019s for a fill-up and home\u2026 on our way home<\/strong> we noticed that with the big slow down on south I-35 that our section up here was reasonably sparse\u2026 nice to not have to fight to get a spot to pass or get hung in a crow of 15 cars before you can get over\u2026 <\/p>\n

Home and time to get some Rolaids down as the German is gurgling a bit\u2026 <\/p>\n
