It was just another one of those days\u2026 got around and had some shopping to do\u2026 damn dogs\u2026 they eat up all that food<\/strong> so I have to go get more every other month\u2026 Well I made my trip to town early today and it took me most of the morning to get it done.  Had a bit<\/strong> of breakfast on the way, then off to the getting place for dog food.  Picked up the food<\/strong> and a new toy for the dogs that squawks , they would like that\u2026 also got some treats there.  On my way out I saw the big sign at the new Academy store\u2026 says it will open June 19th\u2026 oh boy we are going to be up-town\u2026 left there and started home<\/strong> but figured I better fill up with gas\u2026 so cheapest gas was at Food Pyramid express?  they have been cheapest for a few weeks now.  strange to be cheaper than Walmart’s Murphy but I go with cheap\u2026 <\/p>\n

Then as I was about to head home\u2026 and I was so close, why not hit the Farmers Market and get some more fresh Asparagus?  so I did\u2026 Once I was done  here I had to stop<\/strong> at Edward Jones to deposit a check<\/strong> on the farm stuff and by then it was about 10 am and I got on home<\/strong> with out any more stops\u2026 once I got home<\/strong> I found some more visitors in my yard\u2026 if not the duck it has to be the Geese\u2026 and they are supposed to be wild but they didn\u2019t seem too wild to ,me\u2026<\/p>\n

In fact they hung around most of the  morning and were still there when I got back after lunch\u2026 <\/p>\n

Well, I got in and started the motor home<\/strong> for the monthly engine run, and generator run\u2026 since it is not on the road I try to run<\/strong> it at least once a month for about 45 minutes\u2026 check<\/strong> all the oil levels and such and check<\/strong> the leaking air conditioner Freon\u2026 so far it is holding up a bit<\/strong> better by running it a lot more\u2026 anyway, I probably should have just taken it out for a spin around the block but wasn\u2019t into unhooking and then having to back it in the shop\u2026 <\/p>\n

I got all that done and it was time for lunch<\/strong> so back to town and picked up Sherrie and off to lunch\u2026 called an old friend and he said he would call me back cause he was balancing up on a ladder?  Humm, I forgot to tell him it was dangerous to balance on a ladder, paint and talk on the phone at his age\u2026 oh well\u2026 <\/p>\n

I had to make a stop<\/strong> for meds at the pharmacy, boy we are keeping them well healed lately\u2026 although the for most of the stuff the insurance covers pretty good\u2026 then on home\u2026 I needed to get by Walmart for some spray paint but was late as it was as I had a guy coming to pick up some more of my \u201cfor sale\u201d stuff\u2026 With that done and a few more pieces of the \u201cnew airplane\u201d plan<\/strong> cut out and a little radio during the afternoon I waste the rest of the day\u2026 although about 3pm I went in and stirred up the left over mashed potatoes for dinner\u2026 I was going to try some experiments with them\u2026 took them, mixed in a few spices, little milk to get them thinned up a bit, chopped up some onion<\/strong> and mixed that in with some garlic powder and they were ready for the muffin tin.. yep, muffin tin\u2026 it would get baked on the wood grill<\/strong> later\u2026 <\/p>\n

When it got close to dinner I treated the chopped sirloin patties with some Applewood spice\u2026 put a big slice of onion<\/strong> and some Cajun peppers and green peppers and a few stalks of the asparagus on a tinfoil tray with some butter spray to keep it from sticking\u2026 then cut up two pieces of bacon into 3 inch pieces and put them on the meat plate\u2026 I put it all on the grill<\/strong> and moved the bacon to the grill<\/strong> till it got nearly full done and then put it on the asparagus stalks\u2026 and the onion<\/strong> and the peppers so the bacon drip would flavor them\u2026 on the potatoes in the muffin pan\u2026 I sprinkled on some grated parmesan cheese and put it in the grill<\/strong> too\u2026 set the grill<\/strong> to 375 and had it on for about 30 minutes\u2026 moved the sirloin to the veggie foil when it was bout done so it wouldn\u2019t dry out so bad while the potatoes continued to cook down and get a little crusty on the edges\u2026 <\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t too bad for an experiment\u2026 <\/p>\n

I may have put a little too much seasoning in the potatoes but it was still pretty good and the peppers and onion<\/strong> that got the bacon drip\u2026 boy they were good\u2026 <\/p>\n

What the potatoes cakes looked like\u2026 and they popped out of the tin perfectly\u2026 they were kind of like loaded twice baked but with a bit<\/strong> more spice to them\u2026 <\/p>\n

Of course if you put bacon on it , everything tastes great, right? <\/p>\n

So tomorrow? not sure\u2026 I need to work on that can airplane a bit<\/strong> harder\u2026 I am not moving very fast on it\u2026 but need the black spray paint for the bottle caps to build out the jet engines on the sides?  so maybe tomorrow I will get a can of paint for that part\u2026 maybe some pictures of it when I get it half way together\u2026 <\/p>\n
