We came home<\/strong> yesterday and boy was it wet\u2026 several sections of i-35 were being hit with strong heavy rains\u2026 and the traffic would slow to a crawl or ???? less.. Along with some spots in OK that are under construction and the stack was about 3 miles before the construction at \u201ccreeping\u201d along\u2026 <\/p>\n

Tried for pictures of the Canadian\u2026 missed that due to traffic and construction\u2026 tried for pictures of the Cimarron and missed that as well\u2026 operator error\u2026 but suffice to say the Cimarron is well out of its banks and Ripley has been in flood warning for a week and will likely be in it for another week\u2026 With Lake Texhoma going over the emergency already\u2026 I am not sure how close Keystone<\/a> is but I hear that Eufaula is close also<\/a> and they are all damn big lakes\u2026 from the web\u2026<\/p>\n

    Lake Eufaula rose to near capacity early Sunday at an elevation of599.44 feet<\/b> above sea level and water<\/strong> now is spilling through the dam at a level not seen since 2007. At 600 feet<\/b>, the lake is considered at its maximum.2 days ago<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    For Keystone they are a bit<\/strong> better off with some room to work\u2026 good thing it has not been this much floods in Kansas as that feeds a big portion of Keystone\u2026 <\/p>\n

    I didn\u2019t get much done after we got home<\/strong> last night other than unpack, work on a few small things and get to bed\u2026 <\/p>\n

    Today I was a bit<\/strong> slow getting around\u2026 hey , I am retired\u2026 I did get a shadow box that I had gotten a few years ago in Oman fixed.  One of the little emblems in it had fallen down inside and I figured I could pull the back off and get it glued back in place.  I did get it pulled and had to glue a couple of other things before I put it back  together and that glue needed to dry so I left it to finish when I got home<\/strong> from lunch.  With that in the works and gathering tools for the LED<\/strong> job on the motor home\u2026 I didn\u2019t get much else done, although I did get set down for a little bit<\/strong> and picked up one<\/strong> contact with Korea on 17 meters\u2026 I had worked that station before on another band but hadn\u2019t added it on 17m so figured to get one<\/strong> more for the log.  With that accomplished it was time for lunch. <\/p>\n

    I headed in for lunch and on the way to pick up Sherrie spotted this, not sure but figure he was having fun (or she)..<\/p>\n

    It was a pretty nice day, although the humidity was pretty high\u2026 but we saw the sun for a change and sure enjoyed that.   It gave me a little boost so I went to work on the LED<\/strong> install for the shower in the motorhome.  Our shower in there has a sun-light over head but we usually are trying to fumble in the dark when taking a shower\u2026 the stars just do not light things up enough\u2026 so we had picked up several portable LED<\/strong> lights that we had in there but they were not the best alternative and I figured why not put some of the \u201cwater-proof\u201d strips I am using in the CFL replacements\u2026 So I had to get the wiring done such that it was hidden out of the way\u2026 that required taking a lot<\/strong> of things out to get to the \u201cabove\u201d area\u2026 <\/p>\n

    I pulled the CFL light case out\u2026 opened up the control panel door and put a small hole in the top of that space into the foam above\u2026 then aimed a hole in the foam back to match the hole in the top of the space behind\u2026 using a piece of hard wire<\/strong> I was able to fit it through the hole bend over a bit<\/strong> and pull on out to the light hole then feed the electrical wire<\/strong> through that  (red and black wire<\/strong> bundle).  I was able to run that in behind and just a small area out on the side then into the shower along the top cap of the fiberglass shower insert\u2026 and around to where I had the LED<\/strong> strip taped in place for test. <\/p>\n

    From here I soldered the ends of both strips on to the lead from the light switch, sealed with heat shrink tubing and tested the lights in place before I put them in permanent and finished up the wire<\/strong> behind the shower cap\u2026 note one<\/strong> of the portable led lights hanging form the shower in let\u2026 will take that out and use<\/strong> it for something else\u2026 <\/p>\n

    The strips put out some light but not as much as I had figured ;( \u2026. so I will need<\/strong> to add one<\/strong> more strip in there\u2026 these days I need<\/strong> a lot<\/strong> of light, or I like a lot<\/strong> of light\u2026 ha! so still some additions to make before I totally button it all up\u2026 but it will be a lot<\/strong> better with a full light up there when we need<\/strong> to use<\/strong> it and they are water<\/strong> proof (used in car head lights)\u2026 Not to mention they use<\/strong> a lot<\/strong> less power than the old CFL\u2019s and regular bulbs in the motor home\u2026 slowly I am replacing all of them with LED\u2019s to cut my battery use<\/strong> when I need<\/strong> to run on battery\u2026 which for us is very seldom but still happens at times. <\/p>\n

    I finished up to this point at about 4:30PM so I ended what I was doing on that and cleaned a few things up in the shop\u2026 headed in and grabbed a glass of ice water<\/strong> (it was humid in the shop)\u2026 sat on the back deck and watched the clouds start to build\u2026 figure we will get another dose of showers late tonight\u2026 maybe\u2026 won\u2019t be like the all out rain but who knows could be a down pour in a big storm?  It is now after 9 and still no big storm but see lightening in all directions\u2026 so time to shower and get to bed so that damn weather radio can start going off\u2026 <\/p>\n

    Oooops spoke too soon the first of many warnings just went off\u2026 might turn that thing down a bit\u2026 <\/p>\n
