{"id":56617,"date":"2015-05-01T21:55:00","date_gmt":"2015-05-02T03:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/?p=56617"},"modified":"2015-05-01T21:55:00","modified_gmt":"2015-05-02T03:55:00","slug":"steam-show-gone-pink","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ishmaels.net\/blog\/2015\/05\/01\/steam-show-gone-pink\/","title":{"rendered":"Steam Show gone Pink"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#160;<\/p>\n<p>Today was my <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>day<\/strong> to volunteer at the gate for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oklahomathreshers.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pawnee Steam show<\/a>\u2026 I have done this several years now\u2026 enjoyable and interesting\u2026 I have done this at least 3 years of the <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>last<\/strong> 4?&#160; as I posted on it and put up videos\u2026<\/p>\n<p>2014-<a href=\"http:\/\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/2014\/05\/02\/steam-and-blues\/\" target=\"_blank\">last years Friday post about Steam show\u2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/2012\/05\/04\/steam-and-smoke-and-whistles\/\" target=\"_blank\">2012- post on the steam show with videos too<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The sounds from a steam show\u2026<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"height: 527px; width: 923px\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zwXWRvaMbco\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Well today I didn\u2019t get around to see much, kept busy at the gate and got out a little early to make it home for the <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>music<\/strong> at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TheBotanicGarden\" target=\"_blank\">Botanic Gardens<\/a>\u2026 tonight was a pretty good <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>show<\/strong> as well.. 70\u2019s type music\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>I also found out this <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>show<\/strong> originally started at Waukomis, OK\u2026 I remember that when I was a teen it was done just west of Waukomis \u2013 only about 8 miles from my house, but seems it either out grew or lost the push of the locals there and ended up being moved , upsized, increased and \u2026 made a <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>lot<\/strong> bigger with a real park to play in\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>Now what I did see today was \u2026.. PINK!\u2026 well and some other old sites as well\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/SAM_2285.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"SAM_2285\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"SAM_2285\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/SAM_2285_thumb.jpg?resize=640%2C481\" width=\"640\" height=\"481\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yep a pink John Deere driven by two blonds?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/SAM_2297.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"SAM_2297\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"SAM_2297\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/SAM_2297_thumb.jpg?resize=640%2C481\" width=\"640\" height=\"481\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A Pink Dodge Dually\u2026 by a blond?&#160; I don\u2019t remember but was told by the other gate guard the inside was really fixed up as well??? <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/SAM_2289.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"SAM_2289\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"SAM_2289\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/SAM_2289_thumb.jpg?resize=640%2C369\" width=\"640\" height=\"369\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>right<\/strong> is a group of guys from Tulsa Tech\u2026 when the thrasher started up they were standing down wind\u2026 quickly realized that maybe moving up <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>wind<\/strong> form the discharge would be a good idea??? Our future mechanics? <\/p>\n<p>Just like dealing with anything on the farm\u2026 best to stand at the INPUT rather than the OUTPUT\u2026and be upwind no matter what is coming out\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>Oh and <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>one<\/strong> other amazing fact\u2026 You can put up all the signs you want\u2026. but <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>people<\/strong> will not read them, even when they are big\u2026 see the speed and the direction? We had a <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>lot<\/strong> of <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>people<\/strong> going the other way, even after we reminded them they had to go right\u2026 the <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>one<\/strong> that really got us was the <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>one<\/strong> that did go right\u2026 of the signs then doubled back on the back side of those signs to go left\u2026 I am sure I have a picture somewhere that says..<\/p>\n<p>You can\u2019t fix Stupid!\u2026&#160; I am not sure this sign would help some to understand our directions so\u2026.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/images-2.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"images (2)\"
