I jumped out of bed this morning\u2026 yea, jumped\u2026 right???  and wandered out to let the dogs out, feed them, etc.\u2026 while I tried to get my eyes to focus\u2026 Once all that was done I got focused on breakfast\u2026 fixed myself some \u201ccackleberries and Hogside\u201d as my old friend used to call it\u2026 not bad for a start\u2026 but even with that I was not in the mood for jumping into work or anything<\/strong> else for that matter but , I had things to do\u2026 First up was to do some research on a couple of old gas wells \u2026 family stuff\u2026 pulled some records from the Corporation Commission site\u2026 they don\u2019t have much\u2026 but interesting as they were pretty old wells\u2026 anyway once it warmed up a bit<\/strong> I went out and did a double check on one<\/strong> of the last videos I recorded\u2026 got all of that one<\/strong> so started another one\u2026 getting all of the family stuff converted to digital for saving\u2026 then got busy and started doing some tree trimming\u2026 I have a bunch of cedar trees and junk bushes on the north side<\/strong> that had grown up in the old farm fence (barbed wire) that are pretty much ok from my side<\/strong> of the fence but they are crowding in on the new neighbors fence and it makes it difficult to get in and clean out trash and other stuff back there \u2026 and I wanted to get rid of that old barbed wire<\/strong> fence\u2026 it is always catching and tearing something\u2026 usually me\u2026 <\/p>\n

I spent an hour or so on that then headed in town for lunch\u2026 well I forgot that Sherrie had a function for lunch<\/strong> and when I got there she reminded me so I took off \u201con my own\u201d for lunch\u2026 figured I would try a place we never go to so went to the El Tapatio on the south side\u2026 they have 4.99 specials for lunch<\/strong> (actually I have seen in the paper<\/strong> they are 3.99 specials but not unless you have the deal from the paper??? anyway that is still pretty cheap and they are reasonably fast and the food<\/strong> is \u2026. as good as fast food<\/strong> MEX.\u2026 what can I say?  anyway way when I got that done I stopped by the screenprinter\/shirt place and put in an order for some patches for the ham club\u2026 figure I will just go ahead and get a few made up and donate them to the club\u2026 if they like them, ok, if they don\u2019t ok\u2026 once that was done I got home and back to the fence removal and clean out\u2026 this was the last section of wire<\/strong> to remove\u2026 I still have some trees to trim out but most of it is done for now\u2026 <\/p>\n

it was a jungle on that side<\/strong> of the trees and lots of stickers, vines, bushes, etc.\u2026 but now it is pretty clear so I can maybe keep it trimmed out with the weedeater\u2026 <\/p>\n

That is the pile of stuff, I cut out\u2026 some day<\/strong> it will be a big bon-fire\u2026 will be a bit<\/strong> of a problem as the cedar will burn up real fast and will require me to stand watch with a hose\u2026 and maybe do it when it is raining? ha!\u2026 <\/p>\n

I also now have a big pile of barbed wire<\/strong> that I will have to haul off?  maybe tomorrow or the next day?<\/p>\n

Near the back of the yard I have a blue bird house but this year<\/strong> it is a chick-a-dee that has taken it over\u2026 I checked it and found eggs to day\u2026 careful to not disturb\u2026<\/p>\n

That\u2019s a first for me to find a bird other than blue bird or sparrow in those boxes\u2026 on the other side<\/strong> of the yard I have a box and noticed today that it had been taken by a sparrow\u2026 damn pest\u2026 so I set up on the deck tonight and got lucky\u2026 picked off that sparrow with my air-rifle\u2026 then cleaned out the nest and junk\u2026 it had 3 eggs in it\u2026 so that is a few less pests to deal with\u2026 hope the blue birds come back now\u2026 I am short this year\u2026 only seem to have one<\/strong> nesting pair out of my 5 boxes\u2026 <\/p>\n

The other day<\/strong> in town I found out that those big pickups rear fenders are not too sturdy\u2026 <\/p>\n

both are being held on by bungee cords or held in?  <\/p>\n

It turned out to be a real nice day\u2026 not too hot, not cold, and not a lot of wind\u2026 yesterday evening I even got a little radio in and of all things\u2026 made a dx contact on 80 meters?  the noise had dropped a bit<\/strong> and I picked up YV4OW on 80\u2026 I had figured that most of 80 would be dead till fall for anything<\/strong> other than local stuff?  I sure do like my mag loop antenna\u2026 it knocks out a lot of noise and the signals are still there\u2026 weak but in there\u2026 so maybe I will have to do some more checking during the summer and see what else develops\u2026<\/p>\n
