The day<\/strong> was slow to start\u2026 which is ok, I am retired\u2026 First up we went out for breakfast\u2026 usual at Braums\u2026 nothing hugely exciting there\u2026 after that we went shopping for plants\u2026 <\/p>\n

It is time<\/strong> to get the tomatoes out and the hanging baskets done\u2026 <\/p>\n

We got the plants<\/strong> then had to get new baskets (coconut husk stuff) to put them in as the ones we had were 4 years old and wore out\u2026 probably should have replace years ago but we don\u2019t put them in directly\u2026 I just set the hanging pot in the wire basket and fill in around a bit\u2026 no transplant shock that way\u2026 anyhow we got some up on the deck now\u2026 as well as the humming bird feeder\u2026 waiting on the first visits\u2026 <\/p>\n

We got all that home<\/strong> and I did get the peppers in and cleaned out the south bed\u2026 and some of the north bed\u2026 by then it was lunch time<\/strong> so we went in to the Blazathon<\/a>\u2026as mentioned yesterday\u2026 the meal was ok\u2026 not great bar-b-que as it was done by the Elks and not the contestants\u2026 and pieces were good and pieces were bad\u2026 but the money goes for a good cause\u2026 We got there about 1:30 and a lot<\/strong> of the contestants were putting things up\u2026 we should have browsed around in the morning\u2026 but that is ok\u2026 I got a big plate\u2026<\/p>\n

and ate it all\u2026 ribs, pulled pork, and sausage\u2026 Sherrie got some chicken and said it was pretty good but her pork<\/strong> was not\u2026 oh well\u2026 <\/p>\n

After eating we made a walk around to just look at some of the contestants and where they were from\u2026 and I guess this guy is right?<\/p>\n

After that we got back home<\/strong> and I finished up the planting and pots\u2026 <\/p>\n

tomatoes in there spots and ready\u2026 <\/p>\n

As I was finishing up and let the dogs out\u2026 something big took off from the pond and landed in a tree<\/strong> on the other side\u2026 hum\u2026 white head\u2026.hummm so got the binoculars and yep\u2026 Eagle! So yelled for Sherrie to get up and ran to get the better camera\u2026 got out and that bird was eating one<\/strong> of our fish\u2026<\/p>\n

not bad a shot for a digital, and 50x zoom\u2026 but I was shaking pretty hard so went and got the tripod\u2026 the pictures weren\u2019t a lot<\/strong> better but I got more of them\u2026<\/p>\n

Three of my better\u2026 I got 50 pictures of this bird\u2026 and it sure enjoyed our fish\u2026 when it took off, It was met by another one\u2026 so the pair is in the area?  either at Lake Carl Blackwell or maybe up at Sooner lake\u2026 we know there is a nest or so up there that is monitored\u2026 I have seen some around before but never in our own back yard\u2026 <\/p>\n

The evening was spent going to early Easter service to avoid the crowd tomorrow\u2026 and ice cream\u2026 What a great day\u2026 the temps came back up\u2026 the wind was down\u2026 and the sun was out\u2026 and we have flowers on the deck\u2026 now for the tiny birds to get back\u2026 <\/p>\n
