I got up early this morning<\/strong> (4am early) to check the radio\u2026 I still need<\/strong> 2 distant states to finish up my Worked All States on 160 meters\u2026 but no luck this morning\u2026 since I need<\/strong> HI and AK<\/strong> I figure I am going to have to do some night<\/strong> work to catch them since they are about 5 or 6 hours later than I am so about midnight for me is just sundown for them and prime op time my be about 4 am?  if they are on\u2026 but none were out there this morning\u2026 so at about 7 I took off to get my work out in\u2026 At the Seratean Wellness center, did 2 plus miles on the treadmill (at about 5% grade)  no since just walking on flat ground\u2026 and then did a few weights\u2026 back home and do a little more radio and then off to lunch\u2026 After lunch<\/strong> on to my Scan Project\u2026<\/p>\n

Recently I have been working on my \u201cSCAN\u201d projects\u2026  Over the years we have taken a lot<\/strong> of pictures and put them away in boxes\u2026 books, and other places\u2026 maybe 15 years ago I spent days going through some of them and had a lot<\/strong> of them dated by years in the boxes\u2026 but then we need<\/strong> one and another and they kept being pulled out and put back in other places<\/strong> so a lot<\/strong> of them are \u2026.. screwed up as far as \u201cwhen was that\u201d? <\/p>\n

I have said for years that I would get them scanned and stored digital as they are fading and turning yellow or orange as the case may be\u2026 and digital is easier to save , make copies and secure from further aging\u2026 Thank goodness for Picasa too\u2026 in my scans I have found I did take a few decent pictures\u2026 <\/p>\n

Taken after a big snow when we were at Hunting Camp in 1978\u2026 We had pulled our camp<\/strong> trailer up and then over night<\/strong> it dumped on us but fortunately we were able to get the trailer out before it got a lot<\/strong> deeper\u2026<\/p>\n

We were taking class this year<\/strong> to learn how to take better pictures\u2026 I did ok but Sherrie took some really great B&W\u2019s\u2026 <\/p>\n

I still have a huge box full that I have to get scanned\u2026 and I have done maybe 1000 so far\u2026 or more?  <\/p>\n

Something to keep me busy during the cold days\u2026 between working on taxes and hitting the Ham Radio\u2026 <\/p>\n

The hard part is not getting involved with looking at them all and keeping the scanner busy\u2026 it is a single picture<\/strong> scanner so I have to constantly feed it\u2026 maybe it will last long enough to get them all? <\/p>\n
