Now that I am home<\/strong> and it is damn cold (we spent the last week in 80+temps) I am thinking about the motorhome and a trip in the spring. \u00a0So I found this article and seems like good “food for thought”. \u00a0– WD0AJG<\/p>\n

Motorhome awnings are one of the best and most effective ways to increase the amount of living space with your motorhome, caravan or rv. Awnings for your motorhome fall into two broad categories-the canopy type<\/strong> and the drive away model for your motorhome.<\/p>\n

Drive Away Awning<\/strong><\/p>\n

The drive away awning is simply an awning that is independent of your motor<\/strong> home<\/strong> and is self<\/strong> supporting.It is very useful for putting wet clothes, buckets and spades, dirty boots etc. after a good day’s activity on holidays.It is ideal also for storing bicycles and surf boards etc. and will obviously provide protection for your motorhome door and porch area from the most inclement weather.<\/p>\n

You can attach your drive away awning to your motorhome awning rail but you can leave it behind for the day<\/strong> as you travel as it is self<\/strong> supporting.<\/p>\n

When choosing your awning, whether driveaway or a canopy type, you will have to decide on a few critical factors such as whether you need a ground sheet, the fabric of your cover and the type<\/strong> of poles you will use to support<\/strong> it.<\/p>\n
