As I  said yesterday, Lets follow up on the previous topics.  If you have an interest in a motor<\/strong> home<\/strong> or a Trailer, I suggest that you do a lot of research<\/strong>.  The maintenance may be an issue for you or the fact that you may have to get a small “toad” to drive once you get to your locations if in a big motor<\/strong> home<\/strong> or the tow truck may be more than you want to deal with.  Beyond all that, one<\/strong> of the best places to find some good reviews and “ratings” is the RV.ORG website<\/a>.  They have a rating system that I found very good and the membership to them to find out the things that dealers will not tell you is invaluable.  They also go over some very important issues, such as carrying capacity which in nearly all cases is way too low when you are thing about extended living in one<\/strong> of these units.  Check it out before you get too far in your wants and wishes. – WD0AJG <\/p>\n

When buying a motorhome, it’s essential that you read some of the many monthly publications available. These are an invaluable source of knowledge. Many such as Motorhome Monthly Magazine, include a mix of useful information, such as
\n(i) New model listing, specification and pricing of current vehicles
\n(ii) Upcoming calendar events such as exhibitions and sales shows such as the National Boat, Caravan and Leisure Show
\n(iii) Motorhome reviews – test drives from experienced practitioners detailing the good, bad and ugly of a vehicle<\/strong> that could be on your radar.<\/p>\n

Joining a national or even international club dedicated to motorhomes is a great source of information<\/strong>. Most have meeting points, web sites and telephone support that will allow the prospective buyer discuss with seasoned motorhomers about the all important purchase<\/strong>. Many clubs will also include listing of motorhomes for sale from members. Buying from a club member may provide some form of guarantee, but at least should provide after sales contactability to the previous owner – it may be 6 months after you purchase<\/strong> that you use your heater, for example, and it’s nice to be able to ask the question.<\/p>\n

The industry has it’s version of the Oscars in it’s Annual Design Awards. These can be referenced in most good publications or online. Vehicles are categorised by vehicle<\/strong> type, vehicle<\/strong> price, berth number etc and evaluated \/ reviewed. Judging is performed over days by technical experts who provide an informed critique of all motorhomes.<\/p>\n
