Today I bring to you something different – well not totally as I take swipes at our politicians every other post but today I am pushing on the “FAIR TAX” button. \u00a0I totally believe our tax system<\/strong> is so out of control that it is causing as much of our economic problems as the other components. \u00a0When only 47% of the populace pays the tax we have a serious problem. \u00a0Most of this is brought on by ever-increasing “LOOP HOLES” and special situations, tax breaks, etc. \u00a0 I figure that we should all pay<\/strong> the same percent of our disposable income or what ever, so in proportion everyone pays the same. \u00a0 I also had not thought about the “negative equity” we are forced to live with in our savings for retirement. \u00a0So this is a good item for both situations. \u00a0Do I think that the FairTax is the answer, I can’t say just yet but it is a better answer than adding more LoopHoles to the current system<\/strong> and reducing the percent of paying participants even further. \u00a0Eliminating the IRS burden would go a long way to pay<\/strong> for some of the things we do need<\/strong> in this country<\/strong>. \u00a0 I need<\/strong> to learn a lot more about the FairTax and this site appears to be something that might help<\/strong> with that. \u00a0– WD0AJG<\/p>\n

FairTax Advocates,<\/p>\n

In March of 2005, I left active duty Navy to begin my civilian career. This sector shift opened my eyes to the rampant issue of tax oppression in our country<\/strong>. During active duty, I was shielded from the major tax detriments I now incur on the civilian front. My\u00a0personal experience and the shared experience of many Americans converted me into a firm supporter of the FairTax.<\/p>\n

My passion for the FairTax began when I realized that our government<\/strong> places an annual limitation on our 401K, currently capped at $16,500 and an additional $5,500 if you\u2019re 50 or over. My annual\u00a0federal income tax liability\u00a0exceeds this cap, putting me in a \u201cnegative equity\u201d or \u201cupside down\u201d scenario as I\u2019m trying to save for retirement. In other words, I am required to pay<\/strong> our government<\/strong> more than our government<\/strong> allows me to save tax free. For me and numerous citizens, our current tax system<\/strong> creates an\u00a0American nightmare, not an American dream.<\/p>\n

Due to this present frustration and also realizing that the tenets of the FairTax will pave a better, brighter tomorrow for our country, I am compelled to take action. I recently created the website<\/p>\n

Essentially, my website is a discussion<\/strong> and blog forum where Americans from all walks of life can share ideas and educate themselves on the principles of the FairTax and its respective benefits if brought to fruition.<\/p>\n

The FairTax Forum’s mission is to serve as a central online networking location for discussion<\/strong> and blogging of the tenets of the FairTax Act and to educate the masses in regards to government\u2019s oppressive taxation and collection.<\/p>\n
