{"id":2379,"date":"2010-10-11T00:01:00","date_gmt":"2010-10-11T06:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/?p=2379"},"modified":"2010-10-11T00:01:00","modified_gmt":"2010-10-11T06:01:00","slug":"my-seniors-thoughts-or-how-to-take-care-of-the-social-security-shortfall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ishmaels.net\/blog\/2010\/10\/11\/my-seniors-thoughts-or-how-to-take-care-of-the-social-security-shortfall\/","title":{"rendered":"My Senior thoughts or how to take care of the Social Security shortfall."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; border-collapse: collapse;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; border-collapse: collapse; font-size: 13px;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Well these are not actually mine but somehow I find them reasonable in a &#8220;sick&#8221; way. \u00a0Satire is something I aspire to but I was not good enough to come up with this first. \u00a0That does not <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>stop<\/strong> me from putting it here as it came from anonymous in a chain email&#8230; &#8211; WD0AJG<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why not put all seniors in prison and all criminals in nursing homes!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Think of it!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Seniors would have access to showers, hobbies, and walks, they\u2019d\u00a0receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical treatment,\u00a0wheel chairs etc. and they\u2019d receive money instead of paying.<\/li>\n<li>Seniors would have constant video monitoring, \u00a0and could receive help\u00a0instantly if they fell or needed any form of \u00a0assistance.<\/li>\n<li>Bedding would be washed\u00a0twice a week, and all <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>clothing<\/strong> would be ironed and returned to them.<\/li>\n<li>A guard would <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>check<\/strong> on them every 20 minutes \u00a0and bring their meals to their cell.<\/li>\n<li>Family visits would be in a \u00a0suite built for\u00a0that purpose.<\/li>\n<li>Full access to a library, <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>weight<\/strong> room, spiritual counseling, a\u00a0pool and <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>education<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Simple clothing, \u00a0shoes, \u00a0slip ers, P.J.\u2019s and legal aid would be free upon\u00a0request.<\/li>\n<li>Private, secure rooms for all, with an exercise outdoor yard,\u00a0with gardens.<\/li>\n<li>Each senior could have a P.C. a T.V. radio, and daily phone calls.<\/li>\n<li>There would be a board of directors to hear complaints.<\/li>\n<li>Guards\u00a0would follow a <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>code<\/strong> of conduct, that would be strictly adhered to.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On the other hand, the \u201ccriminals\u201d would get cold food, be left all alone, and\u00a0unsupervised, lights off at 8pm, and \u00a0showers once a week, live in a\u00a0tiny room, pay $6,000.00 per month and have no hope of ever getting out.<\/p>\n<p>Justice for all!<\/p>\n<p>What say you?<\/p>\n<p><strong>This should really make us think of what kind of world we created for\u00a0ourselve<\/strong>s.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p>Well these are not actually mine but somehow I find them reasonable in a &#8220;sick&#8221; way.
