T\u201cYep, the end of one<\/strong> year<\/strong> leads to the beginning of another\u2026 So is today the end of this year\u2026 hope it was good to you?  and the beginning of another and for it, do the things necessary to make it a good year.  We can\u2019t control<\/strong> how things turn<\/strong> out we can only control<\/strong> how we accept them and progress through them\u2026 <\/p>\n

Today, was a road<\/strong> trip\u2026 damn long one<\/strong> at that, with at least one<\/strong> false start and several \u201cI think I lost my\u201d"?   The road<\/strong> trip<\/strong> to Colorado Springs for the weekend.  I started off way too early, I woke up at 4am after having gone to bed at 11pm?  What’s up with that?  I then just floated between sleep and wake till we finally just got up at about 6:30 and started packing things in the car<\/strong> for the long trip\u2026 Once loaded and ready we set the cat out and took off\u2026 got about 5 miles and remembered I forgot the sack of fruit and cookies for the trip\u2026 not too far out so we doubled back and picked up the stuff.. The cat probably thought we were returning to let her back in but no such luck\u2026 So we were off again\u2026 <\/p>\n

Up the road<\/strong> about 20 miles we stopped and grabbed a quick breakfast at MickyD\u2019s.  Not the greatest place but we have pets on board\u2026 we have to drag two dogs every where\u2026 Not my idea but I live with it.  Back on the road<\/strong> we are moving pretty well, but I notice that our mileage is horrible?  Since the car<\/strong> has over 100,000 miles on it I had the transmission fluid flushed and replaced Monday and had hoped that it would improve the mileage?  That didn\u2019t work and the whole trip<\/strong> out we got about 10 percent less mileage than we got just last week going to Dallas and back?  I got to complain about that, hope they didn\u2019t put in the wrong stuff? <\/p>\n

It was damn cold on our trip<\/strong> today\u2026 14 degrees on the car<\/strong> temp gauge and that was till we got north of Wichita and there it dropped to 12 degrees\u2026 till we hit Limon and it was 21 degrees there?<\/p>\n

Found the snow when we got into Kansas.  Had snowed yesterday and left some drifting along the roads all the way\u2026   <\/p>\n

I remember this from a long time<\/strong> ago\u2026 living out in Eastern Colorado and we saw drifts like this a lot\u2026 and again in Perryton, TX\u2026 nothing between us and the North Pole except a 3 wire fence that was down at the time\u2026 ha!<\/p>\n

This capture is a jet contrail but look close\u2026. there is a shadow with it?  not sure but the contrail is below the clouds so it must be a reflection of the light from the snow covered ground back up and the trail causing a shadow\u2026 and the color<\/strong> on the side\u2026 just the windshield glare (I think)\u2026 <\/p>\n

As we neared Colorado Springs we got some nice Ranch art and cloud and rainbow pictures\u2026 <\/p>\n

I saw this and had to U-turn<\/strong> to get it but I had missed the \u201cHERD\u201d in the background\u2026 <\/p>\n

And that was only about half of them\u2026 several were sporting some healthy racks\u2026 <\/p>\n

The picture is poor but there was a rainbow in the cloud, ice crystals we think\u2026 <\/p>\n
