west of the house\u2026 it worked ok, weeks <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>signals<\/strong> but clear and little noise out there\u2026 but I figured I could improve on that so when I came across a used <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Magnetic Loop<\/strong> fairly priced I bought it.&#160; It is <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>one<\/strong> of these:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/MagLoop.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"MagLoop\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"MagLoop\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/MagLoop_thumb.jpg?resize=576%2C564\" width=\"576\" height=\"564\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Supposed to knock out that noise and gave me great <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>RCV<\/strong> signals\u2026 so I moved the short vertical on top of the shop., <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>set<\/strong> up the loop where the vertical had been\u2026 but it didn\u2019t have enough coax to it so I had to <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>buy<\/strong> some RG6 double shield (the antennas came with Quad shield but I didn\u2019t see that when I was looking\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>Since it is <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>RCV<\/strong> only I had to get a RTR-1A to protect it and get a connecting cable to <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>make<\/strong> the relays swap it out when I transmit to save the preamps\u2026 and I had to <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>make<\/strong> jumpers for it and , and, and\u2026 well you get the drift\u2026 getting the antenna was <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>one<\/strong> thing but getting to to work was several more things, and almost a weeks worth of moving, building, testing and other things\u2026 Tonight I got I <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>working<\/strong> , finally\u2026 and it does pick up the <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>signals<\/strong> and on the rotor is has some rejection (no gain ) but does reject some off the sides\u2026 so I can weed out the noise sources, some\u2026 and pick up the weak signals\u2026 it works ok but I am thinking that my old vertical may have worked almost as good?&#160; <\/p>\n<p>The major issues now is that the vertical on the shop roof\u2026 picks up way more noise than I had on the other antennas ?&#160; what\u2019s up with that?&#160; and I have a serious noise <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>problem<\/strong> in the motorhome that I go that short vertical to take along\u2026 so now I will have to work on reducing that noise source (the inverter)\u2026 <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>one<\/strong> things
