Years ago a tree<\/strong> in Stillwater was saved because some lady chained herself to it to prevent it being taken when the new parking area was built for the Hospital\u2026 I think it was maybe 15 years ago?  At least one<\/strong> of kids was in OSU at the time..  Well that tree<\/strong> could not be saved forever\u2026 it broke down last weekend due to internal rot and is now being taken down\u2026 but no one<\/strong> with chains came out today? <\/p>\n

At least nothing more than chain saws\u2026<\/p>\n

I got my walk in early today<\/strong> and then put on my coveralls\u2026 yes, I probably wear them more now than when I was working\u2026 ha!<\/p>\n

Went out and cleared off that area on the back side<\/strong> of the dam with the brush cutter\u2026 I had meant to get it done for the last 3 years but somehow just never got to it\u2026 so today<\/strong> I finished up the trimming I started early this summer\u2026 cutting a little out at a time<\/strong> when I could \u2026 <\/p>\n

This was how it looked when I started out today\u2026 I had gotten it this far by using the two wheeled trimmer but now\u2026 it was hand work\u2026 doesn\u2019t look like it but that slope is pretty steep (2:1)\u2026 <\/p>\n

Now it is all cut out\u2026 what a mess, found a couple of larger hole, like maybe armadillos or ? rabbits\u2026 but did see a big bull snake come out of it when I was trimming earlier this year. so maybe now I can get them filled in\u2026 wish the slope was a bit less so I could run the ridding mower over it but 2:1 is way steep on the rider\u2026 the front 3:1 is plenty steep and some times I wonder if I am going in the pond or not?  <\/p>\n

I quit that so I could cool down and get in for lunch<\/strong> at about 11:30\u2026 made it in for lunch<\/strong> and today\u2026 we went to the Barbeque place<\/strong> (Cherokee Strip) but man they have gone up in prices\u2026 they will be reduced on our lunch<\/strong> rotation at he current costs\u2026 I am retired now you know\u2026 <\/p>\n

After lunch<\/strong> I needed to go back out to get some eggs and ended up taking a joy ride\u2026 I had thought I had been to Lone Chimney lake but when I got there I had never been?  on the way I made a small tour of Glencoe\u2026 <\/p>\n

Lots of old houses, a once prosperous town now slowly dyeing back???<\/p>\n

There were a lot<\/strong> of native rock places here, most downtown for old businesses but some were houses and some out buildings\u2026<\/p>\n

Bright paint job\u2026 and behind is a bait shop\u2026 not sure they are connected but ?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

They have an RV park up north west of town\u2026 not sure this one<\/strong> is road worth anymore? but appears it is still used\u2026 <\/p>\n

The RV park has maybe 3 or 4 spaces but also houses the balk parks, a pond and several other attractions, including this??? a less than well used horse shoe area\u2026 with 8 pits?  must have been a big thing at one<\/strong> time\u2026<\/p>\n

When I left town and headed on to the Lone Chimney lake went past this?  not sure what it is for either  \u201cCLUB TODISH\u201d  \u2026 I know there are some folks there named TODISH<\/strong> but not sure what they used this for..<\/p>\n

A special mailbox\u2026 won\u2019t see too many like that\u2026 pretty solid too\u2026<\/p>\n

At the lake this was put up on t he fence at the south pick nic area\u2026 ? those boots weren\u2019t wore out yet?<\/p>\n

Looking the other direction from the boot cross\u2026 not much lake there anymore\u2026 didn\u2019t get a picture of the water plant and stuff on the other side..<\/p>\n

My drive back probably could have had a lot<\/strong> more pictures but I just needed to get home (by way of the store) and get a few little things taken care of\u2026 <\/p>\n

At the store<\/strong> I picked up eggs, peppers and cookies\u2026 important stuff\u2026 <\/p>\n

Dinner??? of course and omelet since I got eggs and peppers and we had tomatoes from the garden and a big onion\u2026 with some chunk ham and some jalapeno peppers and salsa\u2026 <\/p>\n

Finish that off with some fresh made vanilla (warm) pudding\u2026 boy was that good.<\/p>\n

Early this morning the neighbors dog was barking\u2026 so the tree<\/strong> amigos had to watch\u2026 <\/p>\n
