Well, the fix on the weather station<\/strong> came first\u2026 got that up yesterday and now we have wind, direction and all that other stuff\u2026 pretty cool.   So one<\/strong> thing was fixed\u2026.. But, as I said yesterday the computer<\/strong> it runs off of for the internet died\u2026 I spent some time with it and then decided \u2013 HEY!… hook up the hard drive and run the stuff temp on the laptop\u2026 all the data is there and won\u2019t need<\/strong> much for an install\u2026 I pull the HD<\/strong> \u2013 put it in a USB drive controller and the power on that unit goes blank????? Huh? So it may have been the HD<\/strong> that crashed not the MB or the power supply, which I changed out and that did not fix it\u2026 so ??? hey turn on the computer<\/strong> and see if the fans work and then we know it was the HD\u2026 so I turn it on \u2013 fires up \u2013 and smoke rolls from the NIC card \u2013 oh boy more stuff going bad\u2026. Just what I need<\/strong> .   So I RMA the motherboard before I find the HD<\/strong> problem \u2013 then I RMA the HD<\/strong> \u2026 Well today<\/strong> the MB came in but no HD\u2026<\/p>\n

I could not wait on the repairs so I jumped in and reloaded the basic software<\/strong> on the laptop and got it all working last<\/strong> night \u2013 I am getting pretty good at this software<\/strong> \u2013 loading and re-loading\u2026 but anyway I got the weather station<\/strong> and the APRS back up on the laptop\u2026 temp.<\/p>\n

Oh, earlier last<\/strong> week I had ordered a new ball<\/strong> for my weed eater (I have a big wheel model that has a ball<\/strong> to keep it level)\u2026 the old one<\/strong> came off \u2013 well stupid me \u2013 I did not disassemble it to make sure that was all that was broke but ordered  just that part\u2026 today<\/strong> I pick up that part and come home<\/strong> to put it on\u2026 I find that the bearing in the ball<\/strong> is shot as well so I will have to go back and order the rest of the pieces tomorrow and it won\u2019t get fixed until I get home<\/strong> now\u2026 one<\/strong> more small disaster this trip\u2026<\/p>\n

Yesterday during all this other fun, they came back with the \u201cfixed\u201d sewerage grinder pump and it works\u2026 I tested it out today<\/strong> \u2013 did two loads of laundry and one<\/strong> dishwasher load and no water in the drains\u2026 hey that is great \u2013 knock, knock on wood\u2026 it better stay that way\u2026<\/p>\n

So let\u2019s see\u2026<\/p>\n

Disaster 1 \u2013 bad DSL modem \u2013 appears to be fixed\u2026..<\/p>\n

Disaster 2 \u2013 sewage pump won\u2019t pump \u2013 appears to be fixed\u2026.<\/p>\n

Disaster 3 \u2013 new computer<\/strong> grinds to a halt \u2013 not fixed\u2026 and now the NIC is also burnt? what next<\/p>\n

Disaster 4 \u2013 weather station<\/strong> bad parts \u2013 fixed (for now)\u2026<\/p>\n

Disaster 5 \u2013 getting it all on the internet so I can see it from far away \u2013 not fixed \u2013 see item 3\u2026<\/p>\n

Disaster 6 \u2013 weed eater coming apart \u2013 not fixed \u2013 not enough parts yet\u2026 ($11 is just not enough to fix anything here)\u2026.<\/p>\n

Now what else will I need<\/strong> to fix\u2026 oh yea, with a new HD, I will have to reload software<\/strong> \u2013 ALL OF IT!…<\/p>\n

I still have a big list of things I had intended to get done on the motor home<\/strong> \u2013 only got the front clearance light re-sealed (I hope)\u2026 oh but I did get the battery tray and water fill put on so that was a positive\u2026? I think.<\/p>\n
