I figured it was time<\/strong> to get off vacation and get back to my morning walks\u2026 and the sick was about gone\u2026 so early (7:30 am \u2013 early for a retired guy)\u2026 I got out and put in a couple<\/strong> of miles\u2026 <\/p>\n

\"walk1\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I need<\/strong> to change my symbol but I carry my hand held radio<\/strong> that runs APRS and tracks where ever it goes\u2026 it also has the FM radio<\/strong> in it and with my blue tooth headset I can listen to the radio<\/strong> and walk at a good pace\u2026 I didn\u2019t get in the full route as I normally walk on down to S County Club road and then back\u2026 that makes about 2.8 miles +\/-\u2026 and today I took the gradual slope up through Boulder Creek and across the short hill to home\u2026 the hill from about Villa Ct up to Hidden Oaks on 19th is one<\/strong> heck of a rise and really wears you out \u2026 the other is about the same rise but spread out over a little more distance\u2026 <\/p>\n

Then it was out to finish up a couple<\/strong> of small projects on the motor home\u2026 got the APRS rig installed in there and the antenna for it\u2026 and got the grey tank drained from flushing out the anti-freeze in the lines a couple<\/strong> of months ago\u2026 got the tires and batteries checked and put it away for a few more months\u2026 too bad we can\u2019t just get in and go but Sherrie is still working and I am not quit ready to just take off\u2026 wouldn\u2019t be nice of me\u2026 besides I got plenty of things I need<\/strong> to get done before next summer when we do take off\u2026 <\/p>\n

Once that was done it was time<\/strong> to head in for lunch\u2026 had another one<\/strong> of those great deals\u2026 Mexican fast food\u2026 but we both eat for $10\u2026 so not too bad\u2026 <\/p>\n

once home<\/strong> from that I figured it was hot enough to just wash the Jeep.  We had run the car<\/strong> through the pay car<\/strong> wash in town Sunday and it came out ok, I did have to do a some touch up on the front bumper where the bugs were too heavy for the auto wash\u2026 so I got out my power washer and proceeded to wash down the jeep\u2026 also used the soapy bucket and hand wash mit to get it down to a known color\u2026 the power wash wasn\u2019t going to remove some of that red mud\u2026 just the heavy stuff\u2026 then I put some UV protectant on the tires and polished it down a bit<\/strong> more\u2026 old Chamois time\u2026 so what can you do on a hot day\u2026 washing a car<\/strong> is work but playing the the water keeps it a bit<\/strong> cooler\u2026 <\/p>\n

I need<\/strong> to put some glass cleaner on the back window\u2026 the protector on the back tire cover splattered a bit\u2026<\/p>\n

Once all that was done I had to cool down so went in\u2026 but promptly found out the Mocking Birds were at it again\u2026 this pair has tried several times to build nests in the hanging pots that we have flowers in\u2026 once they start that it will kill the flowers\u2026 so I have discouraged their attempts several times \u2026 seems I got them discouraged or I hope so, this time<\/strong> as well\u2026<\/p>\n

Note the two large spray bottles\u2026 they wanted the nest in the middle where they are setting\u2026 also see the damn big stick this one<\/strong> is trying to get in there\u2026<\/p>\n

Still checking things out\u2026 and it don\u2019t fit anymore\u2026 usually the mocking birds don\u2019t get this close to the house?  and the plants are high enough that the cat can\u2019t get up there either so that may be why they are moving up here as the cat is checking out the bushes they have been using\u2026 may have to lower the plants down to rail height\u2026 ?  Strange thing is that usually it is the House Wren that is always trying to build in the pots\u2026 not the mocking birds\u2026? will take the bottles out in a day<\/strong> or two and see if they are sufficiently discourage for a few more weeks? should be getting late enough they will give it up\u2026 <\/p>\n

The cat is getting braver with the new dog\u2026 the dogs sure watch the cat but she is now re-claiming much of the house as hers , when ever she wants to, as long as we keep the dogs from going down stairs and she has a safe area\u2026 at some point I figure the bluff will be tested and we will have a dog with bloody nose?  so far they are maintaining distance\u2026 as long as the cat doesn\u2019t run then the chase is on\u2026 oh well\u2026 learning time\u2026<\/p>\n

That was the day\u2026 boring but that is how it goes at 100 degrees out\u2026 you stay in somewhere\u2026 <\/p>\n
