Today we started out with another typical Scottish breakfast…I had baked beans with my egg and bacon…\u00a0 We loaded up the bus and headed out to the Culledon Battlefield<\/a>… not as important to us as it was to them… It determined the course<\/strong> of world history, not that it changed the outcome of the Americas as 30 years later neither King would rule in the US.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

We got a tour of the museum, the field and some education<\/strong> about the times in Scotland<\/strong> just before and after that very short battle…<\/p>\n

Next we were off on the Whiskey Trail… on the way we came across this old bus.\u00a0 Glad we were in that for the whole week.<\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0 \"\"<\/p>\n

On the way we stopped in a small town of Forres<\/a>… for lunch<\/strong> and rest…\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Most of us went to a pub and had "PUB Food"… I had the special Lasagna.. and it was pretty good,<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

which was good as I needed that in before the whiskey and the … poor dinner<\/strong> we had… later.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Interesting people in these places…<\/p>\n

We did some shopping in town and some had to hit the Chemist (Pharmacy)… I spotted these remedies on the shelf and wondered if I might need some?\u00a0 the breakfast<\/strong> bean were working well today… <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

I passed on the meds as a little wind never hurts.?\u00a0 We headed on to the Glenfidditch Brewery..<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\"\" <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

We got to sample some 12, 15 and 18 year<\/strong> old stuff… learned that the price by age is because the waiting process has about a 1% loss per year… so if you wait for 40 year<\/strong> Scotch it has lost about half or more of the original volume… I learned that I am a "CHEAP DATE" cause I liked the 12 yr old best… the older stuff had a more burning taste to me… oh well… there are a ton of these Distilleries in this part of Scotland… seems we saw one about every few miles on that road… We ended up outside Aberdeen at the Ardoe hotel… big place<\/strong> and had 3 weddings going on this weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dinner.?.. was passable but not great.. The starters were mostly fish based… and not real tasty and I missed the picture of the stuff..Main course<\/strong> , above, looked fancy but the green bean were hard and chewy…. the pork loin was tasteless… as were the potatoes but with salt, pepper and imagination… it went down…\u00a0 dessert<\/strong> was much better Dark Choc late box… nice… So tomorrow will be a later start due to being Sunday and we may have to put up with another poor dinner?\u00a0 the things you have to endure..<\/p>\n
