The day started early… for me I woke up at midnight and then finally got back to sleep at 3am… problems of JET LAG..\u00a0 Plus our room air was not exactly cool… kinda Luke Cool?\u00a0 oh well… <\/p>\n

We got up at 6am, got our bags out to be packed away and went for breakfast… typical english breakfast… baked tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, side<\/strong> bacon or sausage and a variety of cold cuts and breads and cereals… not bad… <\/p>\n

At 8:15 we were off to Loch Lamond for a boat ride… <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Our trip on the lake was to this waterfall at a resort that had been used in the old movie 39 steps…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And this was the resort..<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Then it was more bus<\/strong> ride<\/strong> through the "highlands" headed to Inverarary… and the roads here are like home, in constant state of construction..<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Note the line of cars on the side… we came through that and in a huge bus<\/strong> on a road<\/strong> that is maybe 1.75 lanes wide… some of the meetings were exciting… <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Of course<\/strong> they want us to spend money so we stop<\/strong> a lot<\/strong> at shops to check out the local stuff and here we got lunch …nothing really to write home about or even send pictures… puree vegetable soup and ham sandwich… <\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0\u00a0 \"\"<\/p>\n

These two were trying to help in the selling… <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The next stop<\/strong> was the Castle at Inveraray which is lived in but is open to public in certain sections… this was the old front of the castle<\/strong> used in the show Downtown Abby… but the real entrance was moved to the opposite side<\/strong> back when it was built… although the TV people figured this was a better dramatic entrance… ok… fine with us we got to see both..<\/p>\n

The real entrance… covered and a lot<\/strong> of flowers ..<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The castle<\/strong> was filled with….. OLD CRAP..<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Note in the breast plate a bullet dent… this one<\/strong> worked?\u00a0 wouldn’t want to be the guy who was required to test it…?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We got to see the old Kitchen… just a show piece now but it was filled with copper stuff…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We got our pictures taken with the Real Duke of Argyle… he was signing the history of the castle<\/strong> so we bought one, signed of course, and got a picture… not too bad to get that close to some real nobility… <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

After leaving there we traveled on toward Glencoe (sp) and saw an old castle<\/strong> that came on hard times…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We saw a lot<\/strong> of waterfalls, a ski area, some pretty rought mountains and stopped so this guy could serenade us… <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This one<\/strong> was playing for us when we got to Inveraray… back down the road… <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We got to the hotel and found this as some of our sleeping arrangements….<\/p>\n

Not really but our room had these bunks in a very small area off the bedroom… although our first attempt at a room had two twin beds? ..<\/p>\n

oh well it is a vacation right?<\/p>\n

Tomorrow… more bus<\/strong> ride<\/strong> and another ferry out to SKYE island… <\/p>\n
