I am not accomplishing much\u2026 focused on the small projects and still cleaning out.  Although my cleaning out now is associated with the maintenance of my Sparrow trap\u2026 Sure glad the young ones are  not as weary as the older ones\u2026 I didn\u2019t count them all but figure I \u201cdisposed\u201d of about 10 today\u2026 I have been working that trap for weeks, maybe months and have at most caught 2 or 3 but in the past few days it seems they have all came to check<\/strong> it out and steal some seed\u2026 but just like the Bates Motel, or Hotel California\u2026 they check<\/strong> in but don\u2019t check<\/strong> out\u2026 <\/p>\n

I emptied it out and with in a few hours I had 3 more\u2026 and one<\/strong> from the house<\/strong> trap, where they were taking over a bluebird house\u2026 not anymore.<\/p>\n

Early this morning<\/strong> before I could even get my breakfast<\/strong> down, I had to get out (got a call from Sherrie to go look at clouds) and get pictures of the coming morning<\/strong> rain\u2026<\/p>\n

The pictures do not do justice to the vivid color change<\/strong> in the blues\u2026 <\/p>\n

Then it was back to breakfast<\/strong> of avocado on toast and juice\u2026 picked up that avocado on toast from my Mom\u2026 she really liked it and I kind of grew attached to it as well\u2026 so when they are cheap, I get some and have them for breakfast\u2026 <\/p>\n

Well before I got back out it came a shower\u2026 from those blue clouds and got everything all wet\u2026 good excuse to go play radio\u2026 I got some parts located for my electronic project and captured a couple of needed states for my quest of 9Band WAS\u2026 when the rain<\/strong> quit I went out and set the trap on the bluebird house<\/strong> to capture one<\/strong> of those sparrows that was figuring to move in there\u2026 got him too\u2026 that will slow the process some. Oh and the birdhouse in question is my \u201cvertical-Birdhouse\u201d\u2026 <\/p>\n

The bluebird house<\/strong> was there first and is on a steel fence post\u2026 the vertical I put on the same post and then ran one<\/strong> length (125ft) of counterpoise out through the trees and out of the way\u2026 it helps but a vertical needs a lot<\/strong> more than one<\/strong> counterpoise\u2026 I am thinking of giving it a test closer to the pond and running some wire down into the pond?  see how that works out\u2026 but that may be a few weeks off\u2026 lot<\/strong> of antenna projects keep coming up to fix, change<\/strong> or test\u2026 just takes time<\/strong> and effort.<\/p>\n

At noon I went in town , like always and picked up Sherrie.  On the way home I passed this poor old tree\u2026 not sure if it has a health problem or they decided it was too close to a power line or what but they sure butchered it up\u2026 it is a really big old tree but looks pretty sorry now\u2026<\/p>\n

Once home I didn\u2019t get a lot<\/strong> done other than radio<\/strong> and pulling weeds in the flower beds\/garden bed\u2026 got most of that done for now\u2026 needed to change<\/strong> up the watering some and that took some more time<\/strong> and of course some more radio<\/strong> contacts or attempts\u2026 not much success for what I needed\u2026 <\/p>\n

late in the evening we were given another one<\/strong> of those really neat sunsets that happen during storm season\u2026<\/p>\n

If you look hard you can see that me and the dove were enjoying the show tonight\u2026 we are also informed that in the middle of the morning<\/strong> we can expect some fireworks so it will be a rough sleeping night with the weather radio<\/strong> going off all the time\u2026 but I get pretty good at punching the button\u2026 maybe too good?<\/p>\n
