Well today was a day<\/strong> of less\u2026 less work on my part\u2026 less people and dogs<\/strong> in the house as well.  The kids left and took our dog (dogs) with them for the month since we are going to be gone 8 days of this month?  I think that it would have been cheaper to have them in the kennel for the 8 days over having to make a fast 3 day<\/strong> trip with 2 days of driving out and back but it was not my decision.  It was kind of quiet around here with out the white dog<\/p>\n

Here she is always in the way needing attention but we still have the cat and she is doing her best to make up for the missing dog\u2026 strange, when it is just the cat here\u2026 she demands a lot<\/strong> more attention\u2026 Also it came to my attention that she was a reminder that I needed to go out and pick up the mail\u2026 the mail<\/strong> comes after lunch\u2026 I go in town for lunch<\/strong> and when I get back I have to let the dog out so at that point we walk up and get the mail\u2026 today\u2026 I forgot to go get the mail<\/strong> till 9pm cause I didn\u2019t have my reminder\u2026 Old people need consistency and reminders\u2026<\/p>\n

Anyway this morning was a send off breakfast at Braums, then they packed 5 dogs<\/strong> into the back of a Camry and headed west\u2026 I went to work on some little things I had in the shop as well as making some phone calls and setting up some appointments.  Early when they got up and forgot to check for the geese it was a scramble by the geese and dogs<\/strong> and I don\u2019t think any of them (dogs<\/strong> or geese) were hurt but I have not seen the geese back up this way at all today\u2026 I did notice before the commotion that they were short one<\/strong> young one?  Yesterday they had 6 but after the hard rain<\/strong> I am not sure all 6 made it through and now there are only 5 little geese\u2026 <\/p>\n

Then it was off to lunch<\/strong> and to complete some errands\u2026  I had to pick up some medication, get a CPAP reprogramed, and pick up the down spout parts to finish up my project on the stairs\u2026 I got it all back and then had to do some more dragline work and get the spout put in, screwed tight so it won\u2019t move, and bury some extra drain pipe so it comes out at the lower end of the hill form the step\u2026 the should help stop the excess water from running in under the step and causing a muddy spot or washing the mud out into the flowers on the other side\u2026 <\/p>\n

\"1-SAM_0848\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Now to get another 3 inch rain<\/strong> to test it all out\u2026 and pick up the excess rocks<\/strong> and probably place<\/strong> them in the \u201csnake river\u2019 drainage as the last rain<\/strong> , again, has moved some rocks<\/strong> down and I will need to move them back up and this time<\/strong> put a little cement or mortar in place<\/strong> to keep them where I put them\u2026 I hope. <\/p>\n

I did get a bit more radio time<\/strong> in today\u2026 nothing exciting there\u2026 and made it to the local Ham Group monthly meeting, paid my dues, paid for my T-shirt for Field Day<\/a> for which I will not get to attend as plans change\u2026 oh well..I have seldom made a local Field Day<\/a>\u2026 I have made a few out on vacation at different places and made a lot<\/strong> of contacts with those there were participating\u2026 but my actually being at a local groups day\u2026 only 3 times that I know of\u2026 <\/p>\n

So after getting the wall, rocks<\/strong> and drain re-arranged\u2026 what project is next?  not sure\u2026 I have a pretty long list of things to do, some easy and quick and some difficult and will take some time\u2026 but mostly I think we will spend some of the next few days preparing for a trip\u2026 <\/p>\n
