Today was a day<\/strong> to pay some respect\u2026 Ours is not so much for our veterans but for our veteran family and others\u2026 <\/p>\n

Got up a bit<\/strong> earlier than usual and made it to church , after breakfast.  When we got back I proposed that we make<\/strong> a cemetery day<\/strong> trip\u2026 I had some plastic flowers<\/strong> that we could set out and I was sure that few if anyone would put out flowers<\/strong> for Grandma Ishmael and maybe some of the others that do not have family close\u2026 so we were off by about 1:30\u2026<\/p>\n

But as I was ready to leave, I did have a visitor.<\/p>\n

Took the west route to via Hennessey and saw the wheat fields on the way\u2026 not a pretty site<\/strong> for a wheat farmer\u2026 lucky if some of them make<\/strong> 10 bu\/ac\u2026 <\/p>\n

This is so short I doubt that combine can capture all of it anyway\u2026 and thin enough you could see the ground way out there..<\/p>\n

a lot<\/strong> are being mowed and baled as they are not worth waiting on harvest\u2026 I did capture a \u201cdual crop\u201d site\u2026<\/p>\n

someone had put out a lot<\/strong> of bee hives to harvest the flowers<\/strong> from the Canola fields around it\u2026 looked like a decent plan to me as the seed crop was not going to make<\/strong> much, hope the honey turns out\u2026<\/p>\n

Stopped in Hennessey to get a big Cherry Limeade\u2026 and found the last bird was a bit<\/strong> heavy? <\/p>\n

We circled by the old farm, looked at the old well site<\/strong> and it is still a mess?  Since we no longer own the surface rights it is not ours to push on but the oil company has done nothing to clean it up? They did plug it last year<\/strong> and took all the equipment out but left this mess?<\/p>\n

They took the fence that protected it from having cattle in it and left this?  I would think the surface owner would be getting a bit<\/strong> more frantic to get it cleaned up? <\/p>\n

The place where I grew up\u2026 although it didn\u2019t have all those barns till later on but was a nice farm.<\/p>\n

We run into the renter and talked about the operations and how he was doing\u2026 not a good year<\/strong> and the little rain<\/strong> was welcome..<\/p>\n

moved on to the Del Norte Cemetery and viewed the graves there\u2026 then on through Drummond and took a short detour to the housing NE<\/strong> of town\u2026 I hadn\u2019t been up there in years \u2026 found this guy asleep in a wooden barrel but he got up when I wanted to get his picture.<\/p>\n

On to Enid for a pit stop , a bit<\/strong> of gas and then on to the Enid Cemetery\u2026 put out flowers<\/strong> on Grandma\u2019s grave\u2026 then on to my parents and a few aunts and uncles at the North Enid cemetery\u2026. <\/p>\n

Once we had put out some more flowers<\/strong> and checked and replaced some on the graves we headed home\u2026 we had not been in much rain<\/strong> all day<\/strong> but it threatened a lot\u2026 <\/p>\n

Hey it is about harvest time\u2026 time for rain<\/strong> showers? <\/p>\n

When we got on HWY 51 we hit rain<\/strong> just before the lake and it was wet all the way to ???? about 1\/2 mile from our house\u2026 then we could also see it was raining in town?  Why are we so lucky to miss all the good one? oh well, maybe tonight or tomorrow\u2026<\/p>\n

We hadn\u2019t eaten since breakfast so we grabbed a burger at sonic and home\u2026 after dinner I played radio again\u2026 captured a few more on 10 and 17 meter\u2026 slowly I am getting the states on my list done\u2026<\/p>\n
