Got a really slow start to doing nothing\u2026 I didn\u2019t get out and walk, didn\u2019t go pull anymore of the fake rock stones out of my pile and just kinda wasted.  Well not really.  I had plans to get to OKC and pick up some things at Sam’s.  I needed a new battery for my ham-shack.  It helps backup power, smooth out the power supply power and gives enough current to run my winch when I let the tower<\/strong> down.  I was all ready to let the tower<\/strong> down the other day<\/strong> but didn\u2019t have a battery so thought that maybe the winch would not be powered enough to pull the tower<\/strong> back up so I left that out for now.  So now I am getting some things ready and next calm or near calm day<\/strong> I may come down and do some antenna swaps.<\/p>\n

Before we left I caught this little guy on the fountain rock\u2026 hope he knows that a lot<\/strong> of water comes up that hole and out? but not till way later this evening\u2026<\/p>\n

We left the house about 11:30 am today and took the back road<\/strong> to Edmond.. down Western Ave to the 33 caf\u00e9 for lunch<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

  The lunch<\/strong> was ok, nice for an old style caf\u00e9\u2026it\u2019s located at the Perkins sale barn\u2026 I got the brisket and could of used a little more BBQ sauce but didn\u2019t ask.  The brisket was plenty<\/strong> tender and had a good flavor.  The green bean were right out of the can and nothing special.. Should of gotten a picture?  Sherrie had the blackened chicken wraps and she said they were really good. We may try the place<\/strong> again but not real sure as there are plenty<\/strong> of other place<\/strong> we have not been. <\/p>\n

Across from the 33 Caf\u00e9 is this \u201cmonuments place\u201d\u2026 lot<\/strong> of junk but if you need<\/strong> some Hand seats for outside they got some\u2026 <\/p>\n

From there we took 33 to Guthrie and then on to Edmond to pick up our stuff at Sam’s\u2026 With the new one<\/strong> way out on the north end of Edmond and on I-35 it is not all that far up there.  After we got the stuff and I got my Commercial battery we decided to take a drive back via Route 66\u2026 nice drive\u2026 We did try to check out the RV parks at Arcadia lake but I wasn\u2019t going to pay $7 to just drive through so we looped out and went on\u2026 Stopped at POPs for some refreshments\u2026<\/p>\n

I got a \u2026.. Route 66 Root Beer\u2026  <\/p>\n

But they have hundreds of different kinds\u2026<\/p>\n

There were a ton of people there today\u2026 packed to the gills and a big group of bikes were there? <\/p>\n

That one<\/strong> didn’t look like a long haul bike to me\u2026 not too comfortable\u2026<\/p>\n

On down the road<\/strong> we stopped at the Round Barn and toured that \u2026 interesting\u2026<\/p>\n

\"1-IMG_8554\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"1-IMG_8555\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And they hold function in the top loft\u2026<\/p>\n

There is also what appears to have been an attempt at an attraction, actually the sign said it was a bed and breakfast \u201cHillbillies\u201d..?  there in Arcadia as well but at present the only thing<\/strong> open is the Biker Leather shop on the end\u2026 no one<\/strong> at Doc\u2019s or Kitty\u2019s?<\/p>\n

We got home and unloaded our loot and I did a little Radio\u2026 made a few contacts but not many\u2026<\/p>\n

Supper was a sandwich at home and a little time on the back deck\u2026 it seems we have a family of Geese again this year and I am not so sure they are not nested on the other side of my blackberry bushes\u2026 I had not been down to the pond since  I last mowed there and that was over 2 weeks ago since we haven\u2019t had rain, no need<\/strong> to do much mowing?  Anyway they are out and moving around under the watchful eye of the older geese\u2026 and they don\u2019t seem to be too scared of the dog or the cat? so far?<\/p>\n

I also caught \u201cRed\u201d working on this hole in the tree, like it was full of bugs or something?<\/p>\n

Later on I got back on the radio and chalked up another couple of contacts on 6meter\u2026 had a nice \u201cE\u201d opening this evening\u2026<\/p>\n
