Normal day<\/strong> here, but the wind didn\u2019t blow, so guess<\/strong> that makes it an ab-e-normal day?  not often we get days when the wind only blows a little bit but it sure was nice\u2026 Got out and had my 3+ mile walk in this morning\u2026 same old trail but came on some changes along the way\u2026 Cottonwood trees are in full cotton right now\u2026 and there are many at the Country Club golf course so the sidewalk on the south side was decorated with the cotton this morning\u2026<\/p>\n

There was a lot<\/strong> in the air but my phone camera doesn\u2019t do as well and I didn\u2019t grab the other camera today\u2026 <\/p>\n

Once I had the walk in and got back I got started on my little welding project\u2026  I had figured I would get to it earlier but had some delays in things so today was the day<\/strong> for welding\u2026 got all the pieces out and made a few cuts and trimmed some then started setting clamps to get it welded up\u2026  Got the first pieces tacked good and checked it for square and setup\u2026<\/p>\n

Surprising for me, it was pretty square, even if the ground and other stuff around were not square it meshed up ok\u2026  My welding is not real good anymore.  A big lack of practice<\/strong> since I only weld maybe once every year or two on small stuff.  Back on the farm I got fairly good at welding cause<\/strong> I had to fix all the stuff I broke\u2026 so the outcome was\u2026 I broke a lot<\/strong> of stuff and had a lot<\/strong> of practice\u2026 ?  Well not really but we did have a lot<\/strong> of practice<\/strong> and we took shop back then in school for FFA activities so welding was one<\/strong> of the items we had to learn how to do good enough to make things hold\u2026 mine will hold, most of the time, but it never looks real good\u2026 sure appreciate that we now have the small portable grinders to smooth it out\u2026 ha!<\/p>\n

I got most of it done to this point then took off to ship out another package with the Heathkit test tool to a collector in Tulsa\u2026 got that all done before noon and picked up Sherrie for lunch\u2026 another one<\/strong> of those we can\u2019t decide so we picked a coupon for Mazzio\u2019s (you can eat salad there too) and had that for lunch\u2026 I picked up some primer paint at Wal-Mart and then finished up the welding and fixing of all the joints for this small project<\/strong> and brushed it down \u2026 got most of the rust off or at least down to a point of being able to paint\u2026 <\/p>\n

Don\u2019t look like much here but hopefully it will hold the tower<\/strong> up when I let down to work on it\u2026 I can take it down when ever as it is just clamped to the guy post and the pad on the far end has some spikes into the ground to keep it from moving\u2026 will be a lot<\/strong> more solid than the old wooden sawhorse I used before\u2026 it collapsed!\u2026 And this is painted to match and much smaller and out of the way so now I need<\/strong> another calm day<\/strong> to test it out\u2026 let the tower<\/strong> down and do a few antenna changes\u2026 I may have to do that in several attempts cause<\/strong> I have a lot<\/strong> of swapping to do and need<\/strong> to run some new coax up the tower\u2026 several things are on the antenna improvement project<\/strong> list\u2026 <\/p>\n

Dinner tonight consisted of \u2026. a Braums double dip turtle sundae\u2026 we split that, although I am sure it ruined all the workout activity Sherrie and I did today, but we didn\u2019t have anything else so maybe it evens out?  <\/p>\n

During my little project<\/strong> I grabbed the channel iron and squeeze to hold it and felt a strain but didn\u2019t think much about that\u2026 but tonight noticed what I had done\u2026 guess<\/strong> I broke another blood vessel\u2026 seems when you get older they become more vulnerable to such things\u2026 <\/p>\n

At least now it is not as bad as a few months ago\u2026 I had to stop taking the daily aspirin cause<\/strong> I would bleed at any little stick\u2026 and it wouldn\u2019t quit with out a bit of pressure\u2026 another problem of getting older and the blood pressure<\/strong> meds I was taking\u2026 but the Doctor reduced some of them and I have cut the aspirin and it is a lot<\/strong> better now and my pressure<\/strong> is holding pretty good\u2026 might be that I am not traveling so much either and I know that helps cause<\/strong> I can get on a regular exercise and get out and do things that keep stress low and life is easier\u2026 Just need<\/strong> to pace my projects out instead of thinking I have to rush through them \u2026 like before\u2026 <\/p>\n

That was my day\u2026 not much radio time today\u2026 had it on but didn\u2019t do any contacts\u2026 I even got all my tools and equipment put up tonight \u2026 that is unusual for my projects\u2026 putting things away\u2026 sure like the feel of that\u2026 <\/p>\n

The dog is still hiding under the blankets, the cat is still grabbing the dog crate every chance for her napping, so I guess<\/strong> things are about normal for now\u2026<\/p>\n
