Some times I just get behind\u2026 but after the weekend I was pretty tired so haven\u2019t accomplished a lot\u2026 I have not been able to make<\/strong> much progress on my Worked All States goals for the radio cause the bands have been pretty dead and some of the contacts I have made have not uploaded to LOTW (Log book of the World) so I can confirm.  I hate sending out cards for that so I will wait a bit longer\u2026 If all the contacts on 20 meters confirmed via LOTW I would be done on that band as well as nearly complete on 17 and 15 but alas some just don\u2019t upload for months I guess? <\/p>\n

I have been continuing to gather and haul off stuff\u2026and making donations to our local charities\u2026 clothes, equipment, building supplies, etc.  Anything and everything<\/strong> that I pull out that I have not needed for 5 years, generally goes in the \u201chaul it off\u201d pile.  In my process of doing this I found several more boxes of old work clothes.  I thought I had sent off or given away most of it but in another box I found several more articles that I will never use now\u2026 so to give them away I had to set down this morning and take off all the patches on them.   <\/p>\n

Some you can\u2019t get the patches off as they are iron on so I guess I will keep a couple<\/strong> of those and in one<\/strong> box I found a really old pair that had the original Flying H patches on it so that I for sure will keep\u2026 back when a log meant something.  I also found some of my saved back flying H caps too\u2026 <\/p>\n

Got this in Algeria\u2026 we had a \u201cgolf club\u201d that was actually a place<\/strong> to gather and have customers in and it had a simple driving range\u2026 pretty sparse but everything<\/strong> in the desert is sparse\u2026<\/p>\n

This one<\/strong> I got ??? on a vacation somewhere and thought it was cute\u2026 now I think my Son-in-Law needs it for his work? <\/p>\n

This one\u2026?  well in the early 80\u2019s there was an oil field service company by that name and they had this real catch logo\u2026<\/p>\n

yes back then it was Oilfield Trash and still is but it paid good\u2026 at least it is orange?  and maybe my son wants it? <\/p>\n

I have also made a small replacement to the fan in the motor home\u2026 the bath fan was one<\/strong> of those damn little things that made a lot<\/strong> of noise and moved no air\u2026 so I bought a replacement that is supposed to move a lot<\/strong> more air \u2026 will see\u2026 it is not a fantastic fan , those were a couple<\/strong> hundred dollars but it is close\u2026<\/p>\n

Now to the topic of the headline\u2026 On the first Tuesday<\/strong> night or every month May to October ?  here in Stillwater, they have \u201cBike Nite\u201d<\/a>  Of course<\/strong> last<\/strong> Tuesday<\/strong> was May 6th\u2026<\/a><\/p>\n

I Usually forget and as I am leaving the Ham club meeting I take a turn up Main street and it is filled with bikes, music and ??? stuff\u2026 pretty big crowd this last<\/strong> Tuesday\u2026<\/p>\n

So there is the Bikes\u2026<\/p>\n

We have many of the feathered friends living here\u2026 I have some Purple Martins that have included us as their home\u2026<\/p>\n

My problem is keeping those pesky sparrows limited and out of the housing I provide\u2026 can\u2019t get them all but I am limiting their reproduction ability\u2026 <\/p>\n

We also have a couple<\/strong> of pairs of Mocking birds\u2026 damn noisy creatures and pretty loud but today he was enjoying the breeze and doing some preening\u2026<\/p>\n

next up is the dragline\u2026 well in the old days it was a Mexican dragline but I am not sure that is politically correct anymore\u2026 so I used the shovel today and dug out a portion of the area under my north steps so I can pour a small foundation and put some cinder blocks in there and hopefully be able to cover them with some stones that are like the ones on the house\u2026 make<\/strong> that look better than an open mud pit and help divert the drain to the grass out away from going under the stairs\u2026 ?  maybe?  I will have to do the other side of that post as well but I will probably put in some lattice or screen so there is air flow under the stairs and landing\u2026 <\/p>\n

That was down on your hands and knees digging under there so not a lot<\/strong> of fun but it was much wetter than I had anticipated?  so figured to get it while it was easier digging\u2026 although not much of my yard is easy digging as a lot<\/strong> of it is that old red clay soil\u2026 so that covers the headline\u2026<\/p>\n

But of course<\/strong> around the corner from the stairs are my columbine\u2026 I have 3 plants, two made it through the winter and I had figured them for dead?  but they popped back up this spring\u2026 they are the blue in the back ground and this purple and white is one<\/strong> I put in over a week ago\u2026 hope it does well \u2026 I think I should try to get one<\/strong> of the maroon shaded one? to add\u2026 if I can find one\u2026 <\/p>\n

So that is how it went here \u2026 tomorrow\u2026 I take the dog to get shaved \u2026 we didn\u2019t have here shaved early enough as she is dragging in all those oak and pecan \u201cflowers\u201d they stick in her hair terrible and we can\u2019t even get them all combed out\u2026 so shave it all off tomorrow\u2026 <\/p>\n
