Ok, yesterday I had it on my schedule to I would break out the shorts.  I mean, it has been in the 70\u2019s and 80\u2019s for most of the past 10 days or so.  Felt it was a necessary that I get into my shorts, as I really do hate long pants (being retired and all)\u2026  So we got up, milled around a bit<\/strong> and made it to church and when I got home I changed my clothes and put on my first pair of shorts for the season\u2026 Well, wait I need<\/strong> to back up to the point of , when I got up it was clear, sun<\/strong> shining and looked to be a great day<\/strong> headed our way\u2026 wonderful!\u2026then the parts about church, etc\u2026 When we left for church it was almost 60\u2026 but the clouds<\/strong> were moving in\u2026 hum?\u2026 then once we get out it is cloudier\u2026. hum?  then by 1pm it was back down to 53 degrees and I am setting in shorts freezing my ass off\u2026 bad decision for the day?  probably\u2026 so I had a lot of Goosebumps<\/a><\/p>\n

These are some I stole from internet as I couldn\u2019t hold the camera<\/strong> still and get the picture<\/strong> from shaking too much\u2026<\/p>\n

Goosebumps are a physiological phenomenon inherited from our animal ancestors, which was useful to them but are not of much help to us. Goosebumps are tiny elevations of the skin that resemble the skin of poultry after the feathers have been plucked. (Therefore we could as well call<\/strong> them "turkeybumps" or "duckbumps.") These bumps are caused by a contraction of miniature muscles that are attached to each hair. Each contracting muscle creates a shallow depression on the skin surface, which causes the surrounding area to protrude. The contraction also causes the hair to stand up whenever the body feels cold. In animals with a thick hair coat this rising of hair expands the layer of air that serves as insulation. The thicker the hair layer, the more heat<\/strong> is retained. In people this reaction is useless because we do not have a hair coat, but goosebumps persist nevertheless.<\/p>\n

So as you can tell my reaction was useless the raised little hairs didn\u2019t hold any heat<\/strong> and was a small irritant in places that don\u2019t need<\/strong> raised hairs\u2026<\/p>\n

The rest of the day<\/strong> was a day<\/strong> for slackers\u2026 yep.  I mostly read the paper, did little, and played on the radio\u2026 or doing little things in the shop.  And it never did warm up much\u2026 <\/p>\n
