Yesterday was a \u201creasonably\u201d nice day\u2026 I say that because , even though it got up into the 70\u2019s (my favorite temps)\u2026 the wind<\/strong> was blowing so hard you had to hang on to everything\u2026 I mean it was blowing hard and out of the west of all places\u2026 when it blows from the west our back deck is a direct hit\u2026 Hell, I had to chase down the grill<\/strong> cover 3 times yesterday and once I found it in the front<\/strong> yard<\/strong> (which is on the opposite side<\/strong> of the house)?  now that is a strong wind<\/strong> to blow it off the grill<\/strong> and then around or over the house?<\/p>\n

the last time<\/strong> I caught it and put it back on it promptly was blown off but stuck on the back side<\/strong> of the grill<\/strong> so I just left it there\u2026 <\/p>\n

the first time<\/strong> I caught it in the front<\/strong> yard<\/strong> I checked the wind<\/strong> vane and meter and yep it was really spinning<\/p>\n

I then checked the trees\u2026 <\/p>\n

That pine on the right actually leans the other way when it is not this windy\u2026 <\/p>\n

I did get out and do a little yard<\/strong> work\u2026 in the protected area down below the grills, where I am putting a raised bed area for growing some stuff?  not sure what yet, but probably some peppers and maybe tomatoes\u2026 not a huge bed but enough for a couple of each plants\u2026 but now I have to go get some topsoil to fill it\u2026 just more work\u2026 I also made a few radio contacts later in the day<\/strong> as well\u2026 still working on those Worked All States for the HF bands\u2026 2 done, 7 more that I want to fill out\u2026 just a goal that can keep me busy for a long time\u2026 <\/p>\n

Last night we ended up having some more of the \u201cpulled pork ribs\u201d\u2026 in sandwiches\u2026 pretty good that way too\u2026 now I am thinking about what next to cook up?  I would do drumsticks but neither of us really like drumsticks so guess that is \u201csemi\u201d out\u2026 ended up that we need<\/strong> to clear out some stuff done before so we will have to eat up some lemon-pepper chicken breasts tonight?\u2026 <\/p>\n

Today it turned off cold , agn\u2026 at none it was just barely mid 40\u2019s and since it was mid 70\u2019s yesterday I didn\u2019t get out and do any yard<\/strong> work\u2026 and I really need<\/strong> to get that tall grass (see in photo above) trimmed down\u2026 I have those and 6 more at the front<\/strong> porch that all need<\/strong> to be cut off to near ground level so we start fresh for the summer\u2026 one thing<\/strong> I did see yesterday, and surprised that they could even get close, were two Purple Martins in the area checking out the houses I have\u2026 but with the wind<\/strong> they never landed\u2026 the house<\/strong> was moving too much\u2026 ha!\u2026 so guess I need<\/strong> to make sure the houses are cleaned out and ready\u2026 next will be the Hummers coming back\u2026 in fact in the maps it appears they may be here this week<\/a>??? <\/p>\n
