the Payne County Fair?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well I was a volunteer tonight to man the booth for the local Ham club\u2026 while I was there we didn\u2019t get many with interest to stop by so it was not an overly busy evening\u2026 My main focus was to <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>make<\/strong> it to the Draft Horse Pulling\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>They had 7 teams, 3 from Oklahoma and 4 from Kansas?&#160; We should do better.&#160; Two of the Oklahoma teams were were father and son from <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Miami<\/strong> Oklahoma and the son is a student at OSU\u2026 might be some of the reason for having them here?&#160; Anyway it was interesting to say the least\u2026 had been to tractor pulls and the steam engine stuff in Pawnee but this was a first to see a draft horse pull\u2026 <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/1-IMG_7370.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"1-IMG_7370\" style=\"border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"1-IMG_7370\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/1-IMG_7370_thumb.jpg?resize=619%2C319\" width=\"619\" height=\"319\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The drive them around to hook up to the sled filled with salt blocks (50 lbs. each). once the swing around they flip the hook into the tow ring and they are off\u2026 these&#160; <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>horses<\/strong> don\u2019t fool around either.&#160; One <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>team<\/strong> missed getting the hook in and the owner\/driver got yanked off that sled seat about 10 <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>feet<\/strong> right quick\u2026 Now for the <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>contest<\/strong> they only have to pull 15 <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>feet<\/strong> and they start at the smallest <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>team<\/strong> <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>weight<\/strong> and then increase by <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>team<\/strong> <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>weight<\/strong> the amount of salt block after every pull\u2026 I left at about the halfway point and they were already pulling well over 1000 lbs. more than the <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>team<\/strong> <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>weight<\/strong> and not seeming to have any problems\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>During the show I noticed this guy\u2026 think he may be <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>one<\/strong> of the <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Duck<\/strong> Dynasty group or a close relative?&#160; <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ishmaels.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/1-IMG_7367.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"1-IMG_7367\" style=\"border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline;
