I am off on another work trip\u2026 waiting for a call<\/strong> to just quit and go home\u2026 It is strange that when you want something or you are ready for it to happen\u2026. It won\u2019t.  Our company<\/strong> is going<\/strong> through some pains and a portion is having to \u201creduce\u201d certain areas.  One of those areas has been a reduction of select people.  Now that I am ready for it, it has not happened.  They even called and asked if I would consider \u201cearly retirement\u201d but I told them what I wanted for a \u201cpackage\u201d and they didn\u2019t want to give that much\u2026 I was not unreasonable.  I asked for what they gave a few years ago when they dumped people<\/strong> but this time they are giving a lot<\/strong> less.  In one<\/strong> case, not confirmed, they only gave 2 weeks \u201cin lieu of notice\u201d and 5 weeks for service\u2026 that is pretty short, although that guy had quit one<\/strong> portion of the company<\/strong> to go out to one<\/strong> that we just took over so he got the years he had in the addition back to the original\u2026 Anyway, I am still here waiting on the call, hoping to finish the year<\/strong> to maximize my benefits and doing what I have to.  So much for that. <\/p>\n

Tonight we got back to the hotel (in downtown Midland) and I was supporting a headache<\/strong> so figured that a long walk might help.  It is not hot here , not like it could be so I got in about an hour in the downtown area\u2026 boy there is a lot<\/strong> to see\u2026 ha!<\/p>\n
