This is another one<\/strong> of those places that requires us to have \u201cspecial\u201d certifications.  Everywhere we go we are required to take the local, \u201cspecial\u201d certification for something and most of it is not worth the effort.  Last night was another of those last<\/strong> minute things we had to do\u2026 I had to have a \u201crig pass\u201d certification and they had an online course<\/strong> for it\u2026 we were told it would only take and hour to get through it\u2026 LIES\u2026 It was set up so that you had to do every step, you couldn\u2019t just take the final test<\/strong> or the chapter test, but you had to open every piece of the training<\/strong> before you could access the next\u2026 Even just opening them, and wait 5 seconds and moving on took me 2.5 hours to complete the course<\/strong> and take the final test..  Luckily I passed.<\/p>\n

Today in discussions we are told that the real course<\/strong> is 2 days in front<\/strong> of an instructor so I am sure they tried to make the online course<\/strong> a full day<\/strong> if you actually did all the videos and reading it took\u2026 <\/p>\n

Well, I am wondering if this will be just like the last<\/strong> one<\/strong> I took \u2013 3 days of offshore survival, Helicopter crash survival, and, training<\/strong> and we never got to go offshore.  never really left the facility in the last<\/strong> one?  <\/p>\n

I think I am one<\/strong> of the most trained idiots out here and carry more certifications cards than are useful\u2026 sure hope I don\u2019t have to take many more\u2026<\/p>\n

Today was just a work day\u2026 although this evening we went out to dinner<\/strong> at a \u201ctraditional\u201d restaurant near the hotel\u2026 I don\u2019t care for the traditional southern Mexican\u2026 lots of soups, and stuff you can\u2019t really identify and not much taste or a lot of bad taste\u2026 <\/p>\n

The better part of the evening was the walk over\u2026<\/p>\n
