Today we treated ourselves to a day<\/strong> trip to visit<\/strong> some old places and see a few new things\u2026 Since it is near Memorial day<\/strong> visits to several of the \u201cfinal resting\u201d places was on the list.<\/p>\n

First up a run<\/strong> to Enid to visit<\/strong> Mom and Dad and Grandpa and Grandma\u2026 Then it just happens it was almost lunch so we had to stop<\/strong> at Lot-a-Burger<\/a> for one<\/strong> of the great grilled burgers\u2026 although I seem to remember they were thicker at one<\/strong> time?  place<\/strong> has been in business for 50 years or more\u2026 I used to stop<\/strong> at the original one<\/strong> on Grand\u2026 back in the day\u2026 <\/p>\n

After that it was a stop<\/strong> at Walmart for gas and some more flowers\u2026 then off to the big city of Jet\u2026 <\/p>\n

From here we checked out the mural on Sherrie\u2019s cousins place<\/strong> of business\u2026 painted it himself..<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There is one<\/strong> on the other side as well. <\/p>\n

We then went on to the Salt Plains lake and campground to check it out\u2026 some of it was pretty nice\u2026 not a great spot but ok\u2026 The place<\/strong> that took the most time<\/strong> was the community<\/strong> of Nescatunga\u2026 It is an area that was supposed to be a weekender or summer home<\/strong> place<\/strong> but it is pretty run<\/strong> down in most spots\u2026 some nice places but most are in real need of repair or upgrade\u2026 like the never finished house\u2026<\/p>\n

It is a \u201crambling wreck\u201d of a house<\/strong> that appears to not be lived in at all anymore\u2026 <\/p>\n

keep in mind that all three of the above photos are one<\/strong> house<\/strong> all linked together?  strange to say the least\u2026<\/p>\n

One nice new place..<\/p>\n

but most of it was old and close places\u2026<\/p>\n

Oh and the watch dogs have a better view from the roof\u2026<\/p>\n

We then proceeded to another cemetery and then on to Cherokee\u2026 and spotted this ornament\u2026<\/p>\n

Then on up the road toward Driftwood and the Underground airport\u2026 according to my FIL\u2026 didn\u2019t spot it for some odd reason?<\/p>\n

We whipped on through Burlington and to another Cemetery and got some pictures of family spots there as well\u2026 then back south and a detour through Byron, OK\u2026 <\/p>\n

then to the fish hatchery to see if we could find it\u2026 we did\u2026 then back south to Jet\u2026 which now is known as Timberlake or at least by all the weather men in OK\u2026 ? I think there was an old community<\/strong> of Timberlake and the schools now are Timberlake schools for Jet, Nash, Helena and Goltry\u2026 which we made it through Helena and spotted this old building in the downtown\u2026<\/p>\n

Statehood bank maybe?<\/p>\n

On the way out of Helena at the corner south of town\u2026 a really nice memorial that we didn\u2019t know was there\u2026 surprising what you can find\u2026<\/p>\n
