Sign 1 \u2013 not going<\/strong> on with having the nice ticket person at the OSU office handle my payment—–<\/font><\/p>\n

Yesterday was just wonderful\u2026.NOT.  It was an ok start.  Got a few little things done, had a phone conference for work, and several more work contacts then it occurred to me to check on my season tickets.  I had an email that they were out and I should go in and set up payment for them.  BANG!\u2026 blocked out of Ticketmaster? (they handle all the tickets stuff for our season tickets here)\u2026 Called the ticket office (at the University) and they said no problem they can get to the site\u2026 ? I explained that\u2019s ok I have a few weeks so will see why I can\u2019t get in\u2026 I tried my work laptop and got in as it was hooked through the VPN of the work system\u2026 huh, seems that just my address is blocked?<\/p>\n

Seems that was the only site<\/strong> I could not get to\u2026 spent several hours checking my computers , as all at home could not get there\u2026. check 3 different browsers\u2026 no luck and check the router to make sure it didn\u2019t have any odd filters or firewall set to blocks something by accident\u2026 couldn\u2019t find it had anything different from last fall when we last was on the site\u2026 I attempted to call in and was disconnected from the ATT<\/strong> help<\/strong> desk when I told them I could not get to one<\/strong> site\u2026 <\/p>\n

Sign 2 \u2013 Not seeing the answer was wait and not depend on the ATT<\/strong> help<\/strong> desk<\/font><\/p>\n

Went to lunch and when I got back I started on the issues again\u2026 double checking everything I had checked\u2026  this time I found a number for Ticketmaster and called\u2026 the agent there said that \u201csometimes they block IP<\/strong> addresses and what was my address\u201d  so I gave it to him and sure enough it was blocked.  I asked if he could unblock it, \u201cwell no not right away as it probably indicated abuse on our end\u201d\u2026 What abuse? didn\u2019t they want to get paid?\u2026 He didn\u2019t seem to want to budge.  Ok I guess I call ATT<\/strong> and try to get a new IP<\/strong> number\u2026  I got on the support chat and explained my problem\u2026 of course they wanted to go through checking my modem, my router\u2026 oh they are not ATT<\/strong> supported\u2026 \u201cyou should buy ATT<\/strong> supported equipment so we can help<\/strong> you\u201d\u2026 but they went on to look at other items\u2026 I had to leave as it kept dragging out and I had a 4pm appt with the Dental Surgeon\u2026 <\/p>\n

Sign 3 \u2013 having more than 1 dental appointment in any 6 months and for sure going<\/strong> to the surgeon<\/font><\/p>\n

It seems the gums around my implant are too close and I have a really hard time cleaning out under it so they had to \u201claser-burn\u201d out some of the gums\u2026 This trip the guy hit the nerve with the deadening needle and they had to  pull me off the ceiling\u2026  I had never been hit in that nerve before and boy\u2026 it was like instant needles in the whole side of my head and poking out my chin\u2026 anyway, he got it dead\u2026 I had a fat feeling lip and hope I wasn\u2019t drooling too much.  He got the gums burnt and advised double up on Tylenol or pain<\/strong> killers tonight to stay in front of the pain<\/strong> and no hard food, only soft stuff\u2026 yea ok\u2026 <\/p>\n

Sign 4 \u2013 having tooth implants for broken, missing teeth?<\/font><\/p>\n

I got home from that ordeal with a numb side to my face and took the pain<\/strong> pill and felt, lets get back on the blocked IP<\/strong> thing\u2026 I have no idea why I was so intent on that as it was really obvious later that it was not going<\/strong> to be fixed anytime soon\u2026but I get that way sometimes\u2026 <\/p>\n

Sign 5 \u2013 having pain<\/strong> pills from other various procedures recently<\/font><\/p>\n

Once more on chat and again explained the whole deal.  They support said wait they were reading the file\u2026 ok after reading the file it was \u201dlets go back through the whole thing<\/strong> again\u201d\u2026 what?  I just gave you the issues, reason, and what about rotating my IP<\/strong> address?  it is DNS right?  but nooooo we had to go through the issue of router, modem, software all those things that could be blocking the address rather than just stating \u201cwe understand we are going<\/strong> to see what can be done\u201d\u2026 they wanted me to hook up to the modem direct.. that is a chore in itself as it is hidden back in the basement closet but is accessible just not easy to hook a computer direct to it\u2026 I guess I need to set up a port<\/strong> so all I need is to swap  one<\/strong> line out so one<\/strong> computer stations is direct to it?  anyway, they realized that geee that would disconnect the chat help<\/strong> if I did that so maybe they would call back\u2026 right!  been there before\u2026 but I unhooked and took laptop to basement got hooked to modem and hunted to remember how to hook up to it..,   hell it has been 2 years since we  put that new modem in and it runs through the router so you never hook direct\u2026 but I got that done and out to the internet direct\u2026 no luck with the website so that took the router out of the equation completely\u2026 At that point I reconnected to the \u201cchat help\u201d\u2026 we went through the whole damn process again of giving my vitals, they read the files, lets make sure it is not the router\u2026 DUH!\u2026 I just told you I am not going<\/strong> through that router\u2026 oh\u2026 well what modem do you have\u2026, I told them and again\u2026 \u201cthat is not supported by ATT<\/strong> , you should get one<\/strong> that is supported so we can check it out\u201d\u2026 I explained I could set it up for them to access but would not want to leave it that way\u2026 \u201coh that\u2019s ok your issues has be raised to a higher support team\u201d\u2026 ok what does that mean are they going<\/strong> to get me a new IP<\/strong> number?  I don\u2019t know it is just raised to a higher support team\u2026 <\/p>\n

Sign 6 \u2013 not giving up and trying to explain reason and deduction to phone technicians\u2026?<\/font><\/p>\n

After another 2hours of dealing with \u201cread-nitions\u201d as they are not technicians by any stretch\u2026 I gave up and reset everything\u2026 when I could get back on I found I had a new IP<\/strong> number several hundred away from the last\u2026 yea\u2026 try the web site\u2026 NO! FORBIDDEN you are not allowed access to this server\u2026 well son of a B______\u2026 <\/p>\n

Sign 7 \u2013 venting to younger more knowledgeable relatives that have their own life problems\u2026<\/font><\/p>\n

I vented to my SIL and he responded it happens a lot \u2013 Ticketmaster in it\u2019s infinite wisdom is trying to prevent scalpers from getting hordes of tickets to things by blocking heavily used IP<\/strong> blocks\u2026  I can understand they need to block scalpers but let\u2019s be real about how you do it\u2026 a little more justification on customers vs. scalpers and excessive users would be warranted here\u2026 <\/p>\n

Sign 8 \u2013 not searching sufficiently on my own to find it was not going<\/strong> to help\u2026<\/font><\/p>\n
