I sat here today, doing very little other than getting ready for my trip<\/strong> to Houston next week\u2026 well I did work on a few things but early in the day<\/strong> I was enjoying the cool on the back deck and just watching the birds and , GOD FORBID, thinking about past and present and possible future (retirement)\u2026. while reading a few things I came across this and it really did make me feel<\/strong> older\u2026 duh!..<\/p>\n

Need to feel older today?<\/strong>

  <\/p>\n

I finally got some initiative to do other stuff this afternoon and made a trip<\/strong> to town.  Picked up a repair<\/strong> for the closet doors.,  They needed a new insert on the bottom to adjust them up so the center<\/strong> alignment tabs would not hit.  I to that part, came home and started work on putting it in.  Had to drill out the hole a little and tap in the insert\u2026 got it all together but was a bit tight\u2026 then to adjust the screw\u2026 got that started and while I was looking at the pair of doors I saw that the other one needed to be adjusted down a little and the top, spring loaded, pin was not working properly\u2026 well in the process of trying to move it down and the pin not springing back up like it should\u2026 Wham, the door<\/strong> fell.  It fell on the side<\/strong> with the doorknob and the hanger hook on the top\u2026 well that punched holes in the door<\/strong> and ruined it\u2026 so now\u2026 I guess\u2026 I will get to replace it\u2026 some days things just do not go well the $3.52 part ended up costing me a new door\u2026 and it wasn\u2019t even the same door<\/strong> the part went on\u2026 <\/p>\n

I almost swore off anymore projects but then decided it was like a bicycle\u2026 I better get back up on it or would not do anything for a long time\u2026 so I got right<\/strong> on the project to cut a piece of \u201cround\u201d sheetrock to fill the hole from when we moved the light over the center<\/strong> of the makeup mirror from being off to the side\u2026 it just never looked right<\/strong> way off to the left side<\/strong> and I had an electrician move it back last February\u2026 well they don\u2019t fix things they just move the wires… crap I could have done that\u2026  However I did get the round piece cut out and smoothed up and have a piece of paint stick to put on the back, now to get the front part ready so I can glue it in and hold it in place<\/strong> then I can put a little spackling on it and be ready to paint and that hole will be filled\u2026 I hope to have that in place<\/strong> tomorrow?  will see how that goes\u2026 <\/p>\n

I had also done a little electronic repair<\/strong> of my daughters gate opener\u2026 the power wires had pulled off the circuit board\u2026 that repair<\/strong> just required using the holding device and soldering the wired back in place\u2026 I got that done but found out my good solder iron has died\u2026 the price of a replacement iron is about as much as buying a new set, so I guess I will get a new set\u2026 fortunately I had a back up iron in my tool box so I was able to use it but I miss the better iron with the smaller tips\u2026 <\/p>\n

I think I will go to bed now before something else goes wrong or falls apart\u2026 <\/p>\n
