It has been a few days because I have been busy\u2026 two days of tripping to Enid took up most of my week\u2026 but today\u2026 I stayed in to do some things I wanted to..<\/p>\n

Today started slow and ended that way too.  I got around check email did my limited amount of keeping up with the work stuff then had a friend come over so we could see if we could get some small things worked out on his Kenwood D700.  It is mounted in a Harley Trike and he intends to make<\/strong> a long road<\/strong> trip<\/strong> in a month or so that will take him all the way to Maine then down the eastern states, through Florida and back home<\/strong>\u2026 long trip<\/strong>?  Anyway he wanted to get his D700 working<\/strong> on APRS<\/strong> so his family could track them and see where they are on a daily or even less basis\u2026 I had never worked with a D700 but had done a little reading to get prepared.  We did get it where it could receive my signals and understand those packets.  That was a pretty big accomplishment.  I should of gotten pictures but, alas, was too busy involved in the problem at hand to think of pictures.  The transmit side<\/strong> was not working<\/strong> as his GPS gave out and was not sending data to the radio<\/strong>?  Actually it would not turn<\/strong> on so that is a project for him to work on and get fixed but with the radio<\/strong> in the proper modes and hearing APRS<\/strong> data and displaying it properly the transmit part should be easy now?  WE hope. <\/p>\n

I was then off to lunch<\/strong>.  I had been informed that the 2012 HotRod Power tour<\/a> was coming though town\u2026 The original plans had been for it to go through the Kicker facility but from what I saw in the university parking<\/strong> lost\u2026 it would never had fit\u2026 something like 4000 participants signed for the whole thing<\/strong> and there is not telling how many locally joined in.  I met several that were only local participants so I would guess we had maybe 12000 people on the campus in the parking<\/strong> lots taking part in a great day<\/strong>\u2026 <\/p>\n

The Power<\/strong> Tour is great for those that like to see vintage cars, hotrods, power toys, etc. all in one<\/strong> spot\u2026 I saw more 67 \u2013 70 Chevelle’s, late 60\u2019s GTO\u2019s and Chevy Nova\u2019s than I had seen in years\u2026 What a treat\u2026 once I let the wife off after lunch<\/strong> I spent the whole afternoon<\/strong> walking the show, looking and getting pictures\u2026 and it didn\u2019t end there\u2026 when she got off work we took a small walk around before they started packing up and then came home<\/strong>\u2026 took a few minutes then went back to the Union for the music<\/strong> of Jack and Dave\u2026 a pair of \u201cvintage\u201d guys that play pretty good 60\u2019s through 80\u2019s type music<\/strong>\u2026 had a burger at the new venue in the union and then started our way home<\/strong>\u2026 but decided to cruise the motel parking<\/strong> lots as there were lots and lots of the tour<\/strong> participants at the motels\u2026 We even took a chance and talked to  one<\/strong> of the guys out polishing down his car<\/strong> before the last leg to Dallas\u2026 What an enjoyable evening\u2026 <\/p>\n

I hope to select some of the better pictures for an album later\u2026 I took over 400 today\u2026 but here are a few of the ones that caught my eye\u2026<\/p>\n

It was a rough day<\/strong> on the road<\/strong>?\u2026 or a long week so far?<\/p>\n

Not quit the \u201cBlues Brothers\u201d but it is the \u201cElwood Brothers\u201d\u2026 they had two entries and both run Flathead V-8\u2026 <\/p>\n
