Today we made the drive to see Dad<\/strong>, take care of a little business and then make<\/strong> a drive to spots we had not been before.  <\/p>\n

In my work to scan and save all of the old family<\/strong> photos<\/strong> I had come across several that were from my grandmothers collection.  They showed a place<\/strong> with a mill<\/strong> in the background<\/strong>, a rock dam, a small pond and a lot<\/strong> of fish?   <\/p>\n

Dad<\/strong> seemed to think that it was at a place<\/strong> called Jefferson , OK<\/strong>\u2026 It shows on the maps but I suspected it would be very small\u2026 <\/p>\n

I looked all over and finally asked the people<\/strong> at the elevator and they said the mill<\/strong> behind the elevator had been there since back in the late 1800\u2019s so it is possible?  Somehow it does not look exactly right<\/strong> but the story is that they had to totally change the channel after the last<\/strong> big flood in about 1994 and now the stream runs off to the south before it gets to town?  then into the Rock Island park?  <\/p>\n

You can see in the current Google<\/strong> earth that there was a drainage<\/strong> that went through town?  but to be as big as the pictures say??? <\/p>\n

It was evident that the building<\/strong> on the front<\/strong> and far left is older than the one<\/strong> in the back\u2026 even the read clay block on the right<\/strong> is newer than the one<\/strong> on the left??? <\/p>\n

I am still not sure this is the same as in the picture<\/strong> but feel<\/strong> it had to be in this area?  and according to the people<\/strong> here this mill<\/strong> was in operation<\/strong> over 100 years and no other is known up there? <\/p>\n

Probably need<\/strong> a lot<\/strong> more research<\/strong> if I was to be fore sure and we only had a little time<\/strong> to drive through\u2026 <\/p>\n
